WoW Midnight Mythic+ Dungeons Guide for Season 2
In this WoW Midnight Mythic+ dungeons guide, I’ll cover the Season 2 dungeon rotation, timers, affixes, rewards, and new Mistcrests. You’ll also learn about Great Vault breakpoints and what ilvl gear you can earn during this season.
What Changes in Midnight Season 2 Mythic+
We’ve officially entered Season 2 of Midnight, and the developers have prepared several important changes concerning M+ dungeons to keep in mind. As always, there’s a new dungeon pool, upgrade currency, higher ilvl to conquer, and so much more. I’ve got this table for you to check out with all the most vital details gathered in one place:
| Detail | Season 2 Info |
| Season Start | August 18, 2026 |
| Dungeon Count | 8 |
| New to M+ Dungeon Pool | 5 |
| New Season 2 Dungeon | Altar of Fangs |
| Returning Dungeons | 3 |
| Main Upgrade Currency | Mistcrests |
| First Myth Crest Level | +9 |
| Best Weekly Vault Breakpoint | +10 |
| High-Key Push Start | +12 |
| Main Weekly Goal | 8 completed dungeons |
So far, I’m planning to stick to Mythic+ grinding as always, as it’s my favorite PvE content in WoW. The newest dungeon called Altar of Fangs has also brought extra attention to this mode because you’ve got a whole fresh instance to learn. Other info on earnable ilvls of gear, achievements, and each dungeon boss encounter, I’ve got from this detailed Mythic+ dungeons guide updated for every new season of WoW.
Season 2 Dungeon Rotation and Timers

The new dungeon rotation for Midnight Season 2 brings Altar of Fangs, an instance that you’ll have to learn from scratch. Considering its timer of only 30 minutes, I already see how many groups are wiping during their first clears there. Here, I’ve got all eight dungeons available as part of Mythic+ in Season 2 and their respective timers:
Ruby Life Pools has the shortest timer, but those who played Dragonflight should be familiar with it already. Yet it’s been adjusted specifically for Midnight Season 2. This includes changing damage patterns, boss mechanics, patrols, and more. As for the longest one, Murder Row has 34 minutes to be cleared. But this only seems like a lot on paper because my group has already wiped on it a few times, lol. You just have more route choices there, and we’ve been struggling with intense pressure on a Healer, as well as positioning mechanics.
Keystone Levels and Affixes
Affixes haven’t changed much since Season 1 of Midnight, and they’re still here to make your run more punishing as the key level goes up. You’ll experience different effects depending on what key level you’re running now. The higher level you achieve, the more punishing affixes will be on your way:
| Keystone Level | Affix Name |
| +2 | Lindormi’s Guidance |
| +3 | Lindormi’s Guidance |
| +4 | Lindormi’s Guidance |
| +5 | Lindormi’s Guidance Xal’atath’s Bargain: AscendantXal’atath’s Bargain: VoidboundXal’atath’s Bargain: PulsarXal’atath’s Bargain: Devour |
| +7 | Tyrannical or Fortified |
| +10 | Tyrannical and Fortified |
| +12 | Xal’atath’s Guile |
The only affix that’s worth your extra attention at early levels is Lindormi’s Guidance, as it’s been introduced together with the Midnight expansion. But you can also read more about the way this system works on a specific wiki page to see what’s waiting for you in Mythic+ content.
Loot, Mistcrests, and Great Vault
The reward table has been updated for Midnight Season 2 as well. You can pursue higher ilvl gear, and a new Crest type has been added. It’s called Mistcrest for this season. Check out the whole list of all ilvls achievable, including the Great Vault:
| Key Level | Dungeon End Chest | Crest | Great Vault and Nebulous Voidcore Bonus Rolls |
| +2 / +3 | 295 Champion 2/6 | Champion Mistcrest | 305 Hero 1/6 |
| +4 | 298 Champion 3/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 308 Hero 2/6 |
| +5 | 302 Champion 4/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 308 Hero 2/6 |
| +6 / +7 | 305 Hero 1/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 311-315 Hero |
| +8 / +9 | 308 Hero 2/6 | Hero/Myth Mistcrest | 315 Hero 4/6 |
| +10 and above | 311 Hero 3/6 | Myth Mistcrest | 318 Myth 1/6 |
The Great Vault has three Mythic+ slots. You unlock them by completing 1, 4, and 8 dungeons during the week. The item level depends on your best keys in those slots. It means doing one good key and seven terrible ones is not the same as doing eight solid keys. If you can only do one thing per week, complete at least one +10. If you can play more, aim for four +10s. If you’re properly farming, do eight.
Mythic+ Season 2 Rewards and Achievements
Depending on the score you earn during Season 2, you can earn several achievements tied to your milestones. They’re different in terms of the total Mythic Score you manage to obtain, as well as what dungeons you complete at Mythic Level 10 or higher. Apart from unique seasonal achievements, you can also receive a special title, as well as portals that teleport you directly to a certain dungeon. See a full list of rewards and achievements for Mythic+ Season 2 below:
- Midnight Keystone Explorer: Season 2 – You earn this for completing any M+ dungeon within the time limit during the season.
- Midnight Keystone Conqueror: Season 2 – Requires you to hit at least 1500+ Mythic Score, which is possible by completing +5 difficulty.
- Midnight Keystone Master: Season 2 – To get to this threshold, you’ll have to earn a total of 2000+ Mythic Score.
- Midnight Keystone Hero: Season 2 – A total of 2500 Mythic Score is required to claim this reward, and that’s one of the most challenging achievements to hit during the season.
- Midnight Keystone Legend: Season 2 – Here, you’ll have to earn at least 3000 Mythic Score during the season, and that’s an achievement that only a limited number of players in the game can get.
- Venomous Hero: Midnight Season 2 – Finish Midnight Mythic+ Season 2 with a Mythic+ score that ranks within the top 0.1% of players in your region.
I’ve nearly hit the Keystone Hero achievements during my Season 1 journey, and I intend to complete this challenge this season instead. But earning the title requires so much grind that not every player has enough time for this.
I’ve also mentioned the portals teleporting you directly to the dungeon’s entrance. They’re earned by completing a specific dungeon at Mythic Level 10 or higher. Here is the entire list of these achievements for Midnight Season 2:
- Keystone Hero: Altar of Fangs
- Keystone Hero: Murder Row
- Keystone Hero: Den of Nalorakk
- Keystone Hero: The Blinding Vale
- Keystone Hero: Voidscar Arena
- Keystone Hero: Kings’ Rest
- Keystone Hero: Temple of Sethraliss
- Keystone Hero: Ruby Life Pools (Midnight Season 2)
You’ll have this teleporter forever, and you can use it any time to get to the required dungeon. This might be useful in the future, not only during the season.
What Key Level Should You Actually Run?
Not all key levels are good enough for your specific goals. Especially if you’re a complete beginner to M+ or just returning to this type of content in Midnight, you gotta learn certain stuff. Starting key levels is where you’ll learn layouts of a particular dungeon and earn the most basic gear. In this table, I explain what key levels you want to run and why:
| Goal | Best Key Target |
| Learn dungeons | +2 to +5 |
| Start Hero-track gearing | +6 to +8 |
| Farm Myth Mistcrests | +9 |
| Best weekly Vault value | +10 |
| Dungeon portals | Timed +10 in each dungeon |
| Push score | Highest timed keys you can repeat |
| Practice dangerous mechanics | +7 and above |
My honest advice: don’t rush +10s if you don’t know the dungeons. I’d rather time clean +7s and +8s with a good group than spend the whole night bricking +10 Ruby Life Pools because nobody knows what to interrupt.
If you’re pushing high keys, time all eight dungeons at +12 to unlock Resilient Keystone 12. After that, a failed key can’t drop below +12. You stop rebuilding from scratch and start chaining attempts at your ceiling.
Route Planning and Addons
Throughout many years, WoW has been unimaginable without addons. Midnight has shifted this tendency, but several addons are still required. Honestly, I can’t imagine a good M+ run without these five addons installed:
- Mythic Dungeon Tools: Plan routes, pulls, and enemy forces before the key.
- BigWigs or DBM: Boss timers and dungeon alerts.
- WeakAuras: Custom alerts for dangerous casts and mechanics.
- OmniCD: Tracks party interrupts and defensive cooldowns.
- Details: Shows damage, interrupts, deaths, and avoidable mistakes.
MTD should be your number one priority for routing, especially if you’re dealing with a dungeon you haven’t played before. I highly recommend using it early in the season. If you’re playing with the same people, it would help a ton. You’ll import and export routes to test different approaches, and you’ll finally find the one that helps you beat the timer and survive.
Surviving M+ PUG Runs
Yeah, I’ve just told you about planning your routes ahead together with your party and stuff. But let’s be honest, many of us still run M+ as PUGs. That’s the most common approach if you don’t have much time for WoW or simply want to see what you’re capable of on your own. But even here, you can find a smarter approach to survive Mythic+ dungeons in a PUG run. I figured out these rules long ago, and I’m sharing them here for you:
- Bloodlust or Heroism are a must because there’ll be a moment when you’ve gotten rid of adds and it’s time to deliver all the damage you have to take down a boss.
- Short interruption cooldowns are needed as well, and I don’t even know if I have to explain it any further here.
- Make sure you’ve got at least a few AoE stops as well.
- Disease, poison, curse, or magic dispels when the dungeon needs them.
- Defensive cooldowns for unavoidable damage, or you’ll get wiped easily.
- Make sure you’ve got at least one person who actually knows the route, or give a few trial runs altogether if you’re dealing with a new dungeon.
Oh, and I’ve almost forgotten about battle resurrection that comes from DK, Druid, Paladin, or Warlock. As for Bloodlust/Heroism classes, they’re Shaman, Mage, Evoker, and Hunter. Also, see what role fits you better because most players would prefer to be a DPS, but in reality, they don’t have as much impact as they think. Yet playing as a Tank or Healer requires more precision throughout the entire run.
F.A.Q.
Which dungeons are in Midnight Season 2 Mythic+?
The Season 2 rotation includes:
- Altar of Fangs
- Murder Row
- Den of Nalorakk
- The Blinding Vale
- Voidscar Arena
- Kings’ Rest
- Temple of Sethraliss
- Ruby Life Pools
What key level gives Myth Mistcrests?
Myth Mistcrests start at +9 in Midnight Season 2. That makes +9 a very important farming level before you’re ready to spam +10s.
What key level gives Myth-track Great Vault gear?
+10 and higher keys give Myth-track Great Vault rewards. That’s why +10 is the key level most players should aim for each week.
Does Mythic+ have a weekly lockout?
No, Mythic+ does not have a normal weekly lockout. You can run dungeons repeatedly as long as someone in the group has a keystone.
How many Mythic+ dungeons do I need for Great Vault?
You need 1 dungeon for the first Vault slot, 4 dungeons for the second, and 8 dungeons for the third.
What addons help with Mythic+ in WoW?
The most useful addons are Mythic Dungeon Tools, BigWigs or DBM, WeakAuras, OmniCD, and Details. MDT is especially good for planning routes and learning an instance better if it’s a new one.
What is the easiest way to start Mythic+ in WoW?
Start with +2 to +5 keys, learn every dungeon, and don’t rush +10 until you understand routes, interrupts, boss mechanics, and dangerous trash pulls.
