WaylaidCost — Crates & Writs

Spend less gold on Merchant's Favor and Craftman's Writs.

WaylaidCost compares Waylaid Crates and Craftsman's Writs in WoW Forever, bringing the order price and required goods together in one auction-house view. See which crate offers the best Favor value, which filling option costs less, and how writs compare per base reputation.

Find your next purchase

• Best-value highlighting: spot the lowest cost per Favor or reputation among the displayed orders.
• Quick estimates or detailed prices: use Fast Scan for an overview, or Full Scan to check recorded prices, quantities and whole-stack costs.
• Useful item tooltips: check material costs and missing stock when hovering crates or writs, including outside the auction house.
• Progress goals: choose a Favor or reputation target and estimate the gold needed from your Full Scan results.
• Easy shopping: click an item name to search the Buy tab; expand a row to compare its required goods or filling options.

Each view keeps its last successful scan across reloads.

Languages

Version 0.1.0 adds localized scans and UI translations for English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, and Simplified/Traditional Chinese.

English, French and Russian have been tested in-game; other translations await live review.

Item names automatically match your game’s language using Blizzard’s addon API.

A few things to know

Fast Scan prices are estimates; Full Scan prices reflect the auctions recorded at scan time. Check current prices before buying. Calculations exclude owned bag/bank items, crafting recipes and reward bonuses. Goal costs are estimates, not a guarantee of the cheapest possible route.

Beta rewards and quest locations may be incomplete or change. Unknown values stay clearly marked, and base Favor rewards are editable in settings. WaylaidCost never buys items or completes quests automatically.
