SpellUpgrade

Addon details description

SpellUpgrade is a World of Warcraft: Forever addon that finds outdated spell ranks already sitting on your action bars and lets you update them without blindly replacing intentional down-ranks.

Review before you upgrade

SpellUpgrade scans your action bars and clearly shows the spell, current rank, highest learned rank, action-bar placement, and keybind. You can upgrade an individual placement directly from its row or select several placements and upgrade them together.

Keep intentional down-ranks

Classic-style gameplay often gives good reasons to keep lower ranks of certain spells. Keep rank protects that exact spell rank by Spell ID, so SpellUpgrade stops offering to replace it while continuing to detect other outdated ranks of the same spell family.

Protected ranks can be reviewed and restored at any time from the Protected ranks tab.

Trainer workflow

SpellUpgrade automatically rescans when your spells change and can optionally open after leaving a trainer when outdated ranks are still present on your action bars.

Optional group rank reminders — Beta

SpellUpgrade can optionally watch party and raid spell casts and privately remind a group member when it can determine that a higher spell rank is available for their character level.

The feature is disabled by default and does not claim the player has already trained the higher rank. It simply suggests checking their trainer, spellbook, or action bar.

To avoid spam, reminders are limited to once per player and spell family every 20 minutes, with at least 60 seconds between different reminders to the same player. Individual spell ranks can also be excluded from ally warnings.

Forever-focused

SpellUpgrade is built specifically for World of Warcraft: Forever, using Forever spell/action APIs and rank information rather than assuming Classic Era behavior.

Commands include /spellupgrade, /supgrade, /supgrade scan, /supgrade ally on|off, and the ally rank ignore/allow commands.
