Secondary Lighting Cycle
Automatically cycle WoW Forever's Secondary Lighting from High to Fair when FPS drops, on a timer, or both. This small local addon automates the lighting toggle with configurable timing and no configuration window.
Defaults: FPS below 110 for 2 seconds, or every 30 seconds; 0.5 seconds between High and Fair; 10 seconds of cooldown after a completed cycle. Enabled by default.
Features
- FPS, timer, or combined triggers with configurable threshold, interval, hold time, delay, and cooldown.
- Saved configuration, manual cycling, status reporting, and optional debug messages.
- Base Secondary Lighting only by default; raid lighting is an explicit opt-in.
- No overlapping cycles; loading, graphics settings, and cinematics postpone new cycles.
- Fair recovery when an active cycle is disabled or interrupted; automatic cycling pauses on API/CVar errors.
- No external dependencies or network calls.
Commands
/slc on
/slc off
/slc mode fps|timer|both
/slc fps 110
/slc interval 30
/slc cooldown 10
/slc delay 0.5
/slc hold 2
/slc test
/slc status
/slc raid on|off
/slc debug on|off
/slc help
Choose one value where alternatives are shown: for example, /slc mode fps. Times are in seconds. /slc hold 0 triggers on the first low FPS sample. /slc test runs one cycle even while automatic cycling is off. /slc raid on also cycles raid lighting and leaves it at Fair.
Installation and compatibility
Extract SecondaryLightingCycle into your WoW Forever installation's _classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns/ folder on Windows or macOS, restart the client, and enable it in the AddOns list.
Version 1.0.0 targets WoW Forever 1.60.1, interface 16001. The author reported a successful real-client test on one macOS setup using build 1.60.1.70205. FPS recovery on other setups remains to be checked using /slc test.
Only Secondary Lighting CVars are changed. The addon applies those values directly, without a graphics restart or global Apply of other pending options. Fair recovery can fail if the client rejects the write; /slc status shows the diagnostic.
