Scryer turns information about the players around you into structured, persistent intelligence.
As you encounter players, Scryer collects available information and connects those observations to build detailed profiles over time. Character data, equipment, wealth indicators, activity, encounter history and behavioural patterns are brought together into a single view.
A single observation doesn't reveal much on its own, but repeated observations can reveal patterns in player behaviour. By maintaining and enriching profiles across different times and locations, Scryer makes it possible to see where and when players have been encountered, how their characters have changed, and whether their activity follows a recognisable pattern.
The result is a clearer picture of who you're looking at, what you've seen before, and what has changed since you last saw them.

The goal of creating Scryer was to illustrate to the community the kinds of capabilities in-game mods support when pushed to their limits, and encourage discussion and debate in support of Blizzard making an informed decision as to the future of mods with these kinds of capabilities in WoW:Forever while the beta is still ongoing.

The addon is primarily focused on data collection from players on your own faction. I've spent basically a week sat in Ironforge and Stormwind stalking people and building profiles, so I have yet to even see a Horde player to start exploring the possible data collection options for the enemy faction. While I expect less information overall as they're the hostile faction, Forever has retail bones, and so there are probably some new data sources not previously available.
