QuestLevelSort

QuestLevelSort is a lightweight addon that sorts tracked quests by quest level directly in Blizzard's default Objective Tracker, without changing the original UI -- for players who, like me, want to preserve the classic WoW feel as much as possible.

Blizzard's tracker does not always display tracked quests in a useful level order. QuestLevelSort keeps the familiar Blizzard tracker while rearranging the existing quest entries by level.

Features

  • Sorts tracked quests by quest level
  • Toggle between lowest → highest and highest → lowest
  • Remembers your preferred sorting direction between sessions
  • Uses Blizzard's default Objective Tracker — no custom quest tracker UI
  • Marks quests not found in the original Vanilla quest database with a small ∞ icon
  • Designed and currently tested for WoW Forever

Usage

Simply install the addon and track quests normally.

Use:

/qls

to toggle between ascending and descending quest-level sorting.

Your selected sorting direction is saved automatically.

Forever Quest Marker

QuestLevelSort uses a small ∞ symbol to identify quests that are not part of the original Vanilla quest database.

The Vanilla quest ID reference is based on Questie's Classic quest database.

The Vanilla quest ID ranges used by QuestLevelSort were generated directly from Questie's Classic quest database using a custom Python script. Consecutive quest IDs are combined into ranges to provide a compact lookup table.

Important: The ∞ marker does not use an official Blizzard "Forever quest" flag. It indicates that the quest ID was not found in the Vanilla reference data and is therefore treated by QuestLevelSort as a non-Vanilla / Forever quest.

Beta

QuestLevelSort is currently in beta testing for WoW Forever.

The addon has been tested with the current Forever beta client, but additional testing across different characters, quest logs and addon combinations is very welcome.

If you encounter a Lua error, taint error, incorrect quest ordering, or an incorrectly marked quest, please leave a comment with as much information as possible.
