Quest Completist

See which quests you've completed and which you still have left, for every zone, dungeon, class, profession and holiday in the game. On Retail, Quest Completist knows over 35,000 quests and places nearly 15,000 quest-giver pins on your world map.

Type /qc (or /questc) to open it, or set a key binding.

Game versions

Quest Completist's main releases are made for Retail and, since 111.1, WoW: Forever. One download covers both: each game loads its own quest list, menus and map pins.

On WoW: Forever, it knows around 5,100 quests and places around 1,700 quest-giver pins. Its list was built from the Forever beta, so it's still growing: Forever's new quests above level 40, and the quest givers in its new zones, will follow in updates. Retail-only features, like covenants, renown, the Warband and world quests, don't apply there.

The Files tab also has versions for other editions of the game, such as Classic, created and maintained by Thalid83 (Thanks!). If you play one of those, pick the file for your game version there. They're built separately, so some features on this page may work differently or not be available.

Features

A checklist for every zone

  • Every quest in a zone, dungeon, raid, class, profession or holiday category, marked done or still to do.
  • A running total for each category, like 142/180 Complete (78%).
  • The list follows you as you travel, switching to the zone you're in, without losing your search or a category you're browsing.
  • Category and quest names, and the addon's own tooltips, options and messages, show in your game's language. Search finds a quest by its name in your language or in English.
  • Sort by level or alphabetically.

Clear icons at a glance

  • Different icons for normal, daily, weekly, repeatable, holiday, class and profession quests.
  • Quests in your log show a grey ? (in progress) or a yellow ? (ready to hand in), in the list and in its tooltips.
  • Dailies and repeatables are never marked "done", so you can see at a glance which dailies each zone has.

Quest givers on your world map

  • Pins show where to pick up the quests you haven't done yet.
  • Hover a pin to see who gives which quests, with the quest givers' names and titles (like Innkeeper) in your game's language.
  • A progress bar shows how many of each quest giver's quests you've done. The ones still to do come first, and done quests fold into one line: hold Shift to list them.
  • With the map's filters for them turned off, quests you can't take yet are greyed, with what stands in the way, like Requires Level 50 or the quest to do first.
  • Holiday quest pins follow the in-game calendar. Brewfest, Hallow's End, Winter Veil, the Darkmoon Faire and the rest appear only while they're running. Type /qc holidays to see what's on now and what's coming up.

Detailed quest tooltips

  • Where the quest giver is, the quest's storyline with your progress through it and your place in it, and the quests you need to do first.
  • Renown or reputation requirements, with a ✓ or ✗ for renown, and the reputation it rewards.
  • Warnings for breadcrumb quests, and for quests that lock out others ("you can only complete one of these").

Filters to show only what matters to you

  • Hide quests for the other faction, other races and classes, professions you don't have, or other covenants.
  • Hide completed, in-progress, low-level, daily, weekly, repeatable or world quests.
  • Hide quests you've already done on another character in your Warband.
  • Hide quests you can no longer get, like Battle for Azeroth's old PvP rewards and hidden tracking quests (on by default).
  • Map and list filters are set separately.

Keeps itself up to date

  • Asks the game which quests you've completed every time you log in, including ones done before you installed the addon.
  • The list and map update as soon as you accept, hand in or abandon a quest.
  • Dailies and weeklies clear themselves at the real daily and weekly reset.

Handy clicks

  • Left-click a quest to set a waypoint to its quest giver (needs TomTom).
  • Left-click a quest giver's pin on the map to set a waypoint to it (needs TomTom).
  • Shift-click a quest to mark it as done, or not done.
  • Alt-click a quest to mark it as unattainable (for quests you can no longer get).

Feedback

Found a quest in the wrong place, or one the addon says you can't do when you can? A small alert appears when Quest Completist spots something it didn't know. If you pick up a quest the addon thought was no longer available, it tells you in chat. Please report these in the comments or on the Issues page.

Quest Completist 111.4

New

  • Click a quest giver's pin on the map to set a TomTom waypoint to it, as clicking a quest in the list does. The pin's tooltip says so when TomTom is installed.
  • Map pin tooltips say why you can't take a quest yet. With the map's filters for them turned off, such quests are greyed, with what stands in the way: "Requires Level 50", the quest you need to do first, "Horde Only", a class, a race or a renown level.
  • Quest givers' titles, such as "Innkeeper" or "Flight Master", show under their names in map pin tooltips, in your game's language.
  • WoW: Forever knows nearly 600 more quests: the Argent Dawn, Cenarion Circle and Darkmoon Faire turn-ins, the Ahn'Qiraj War signets, the shaman's Saptas and more, with around 190 more quest-giver pins. Zephras Isle has its first pins.

Improved

  • Quest tooltips mark renown requirements with a ✓ or ✗, and show each renown faction's emblem beside its name and the reputation a quest rewards.
  • Thin dividers now separate the sections of quest and map pin tooltips.
  • WoW: Forever: quest givers on the right map. A few were pinned on a neighbouring map, such as the Mulgore Darkmoon Faire's givers, Kargath's posters in the Badlands, Argent Officer Garush at the Bulwark, Kelm Hargunth at Mor'shan Rampart and the Lunar Festival elders.
  • WoW: Forever: repeatable profession quests, such as the fishing turn-ins and Felwood's salves, show as repeatable instead of staying ticked off after the first time.

Fixed

  • Over 500 quests you can repeat now show as repeatable, such as Alterac Valley's supply turn-ins, the Darkmoon Faire's decks, the Ahn'Qiraj tier-token quests, Garrison invasions and the Ember Court's favors. They no longer stay ticked off after the first time, and they're hidden while "Hide repeatable quests" is on.
  • 92 quests listed as daily or weekly can now be ticked off, such as Suramar's Insurrection chapters, raid quests in Manaforge Omega and other raids, and quests in the warfront zones.
  • Quest givers' names in map pin tooltips sometimes showed white instead of gold until you pressed Shift.

Quest Completist 111.3

Fixed

  • Quests you can still get are back in the list. Some of the quests hidden as "no longer available" since 110.7 can still be done: paragon reward caches such as "Supplies from the Honorbound", renown rewards, the Torghast rescues and the Horrific Visions quests. They show again.
  • Nearly 600 quests that come back now show as daily, weekly or repeatable, as they are in the game, instead of being ticked off for good the first time: the Ember Court's restocks, the Tillers' gifts, the Argent Dawn's scourgestone turn-ins, Korthia's and Love is in the Air's dailies, fishing lunkers, Covenant Assaults and more. Like other recurring quests, they're hidden while the daily, repeatable or world quest filters are on, and then don't count towards a category's total. A tick from before clears at the next reset.

Improved

  • More quests you can no longer get are hidden while "Hide quests that are no longer available" is on, as it is by default: Battle for Azeroth's old "Conquest's Reward" PvP quests, which also leave Marshal Gabriel's and High Warlord Volrath's map pins, Legion's pre-launch invasions, and tracking and test entries that were never real quests.

Quest Completist 111.2

After updating, fully close and restart World of Warcraft. A /reload isn't enough for this version.

New

  • Map pin tooltips show your progress. Under each quest giver's name, a bar and a count like 15/19 show how many of their quests you've done. It still counts the ones you've hidden with "Hide Completed Quests", and leaves out dailies and repeatables.
  • Quests still to do come first in map pin tooltips, with the ones in your log at the top. Done quests fold into one line, such as "15 done": hold Shift to list them.
  • Quest tooltips show your progress through the storyline with the same bar, and each quest in the storyline has the quest list's icon instead of "Completed" or "Not Completed".

Improved

  • Storylines only list your race's and class's quests, as the quest list does, so Exile's Reach no longer shows every class's version of a step.
  • Map pin tooltips use the quest list's icons and colours for quests in your log (in progress or ready to hand in) and for quests marked unattainable, and quest IDs are quieter.
  • The required quest in a quest tooltip shows its icon too.

Fixed

  • WoW: Forever: "Hide non-active seasonal quests" now works. On days with no holiday on Forever's calendar, every seasonal quest was shown on the map.

Quest Completist 111.1

New

  • Quest Completist now works on WoW: Forever. One download covers Retail and Forever, and each game loads its own quest list, menus and map pins.
  • On Forever it knows around 4,500 quests and places around 1,500 quest-giver pins: the old world's zones, dungeons, raids, classes, professions and holidays, and the new quests seen on the Forever beta so far, such as the Skyborne's on Zephras Isle.
  • Still to come on Forever: its new quests above level 40, and the quest givers in its new zones, which the beta hasn't shown us yet. If something looks wrong on Forever, please tell us in the comments.

Improved

  • More quest givers' names show in your game's language on map pins and in quest tooltips, instead of English: Captain Garrick and Warlord Breka Grimaxe in Exile's Reach, General Nazgrim in the Jade Forest, and a few others.
  • Tidier map pins. Captain Garrick, Warlord Breka Grimaxe, Rell Nightwind and Chen Stormstout no longer have a second pin beside the first.

Quest Completist 111.0

New

  • The addon's own text now shows in your game's language: quest tooltips, the quest list, map pin tooltips, the options panel, alerts and chat messages, in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Chinese. These translations are new, so if something reads oddly in your language, please tell us in the comments. Anything not yet translated shows in English.
  • Faction names in quest tooltips (reputation rewards and renown requirements) now show in your game's language.

Fixed

  • Weekly quests no longer stay ticked off for good. Wintergrasp's weeklies, the Wrath of the Lich King raid "… Must Die!" quests, the Warlords of Draenor and Throne of Thunder raid quests and "The Arena Calls" were treated as one-time quests. They now reset each week and show the weekly icon. Like other weeklies, they're hidden while "Hide World Quests" is on.
  • Story quests that were listed as dailies or weeklies can now be ticked off, including the Conquest Pit quests and "Ursoc, the Bear God" in Grizzly Hills, "Assault on Broken Shore", and "Justice for the Fallen" in Zuldazar.
  • The Tillers' gifts in the Valley of the Four Winds now show as repeatable quests, as they are in the game, and the emissary bounties "Champions of Azeroth", "The Ankoan" and "The Unshackled" count as weeklies like the other emissaries.
  • Quest tooltips no longer say "Unknown Zone (Invalid Area ID)" for quest givers in class halls, covenant sanctums and similar places. They name the place instead.
  • Map pin tooltips no longer list the same quest twice, for example Alyx's quests in Tanaris.
  • "What Hope in the Light?", "Null Space" and "Echoes of the Darkwell" are now listed under Eversong Woods instead of Uncategorized.

Improved

  • Tidier map pins. Quest givers who had two pins side by side now have one, such as Archmage Modera in Dalaran, Odyn in Skyhold and Lord Jorach Ravenholdt. A few quests now start where the game puts them, and a stray "Abundant Offerings" pin on the edge of the Zul'Aman map is gone.
