# Get out of the fire.

Most danger-alert addons read the combat log. WoW Forever doesn't give addons one, so on Forever they sit there quietly while you stand in Consecration.

**Fire Watch is built for Forever from the ground up.** It works from what the game still shares with addons: the hits you take, your health, your debuffs and the breath and fatigue bars. When you're standing in something, you'll hear it, see the edges of your screen flash and get a message telling you to move.

## What it warns you about

- **Standing in something.** Fire, lava, Consecration, Blizzard, Death and Decay and poison clouds tick every 1 to 2 seconds. Three spell hits of the same school inside about 4 seconds sets it off. Normal damage-over-time spells tick every 3 seconds, so a Shadow Word: Pain ticking on you won't.
- **Big hits.** A single hit for a big share of your health (30% by default).
- **Losing health fast.** A big share of your health gone within 3 seconds (40% by default).
- **Running out of breath.** At 10 seconds left, and again if you start drowning.
- **Swimming into fatigue.** As soon as the fatigue bar shows up.
- **Known ground-effect debuffs.** Blizzard, Flamestrike, Rain of Fire, Consecration, Death and Decay, Hellfire and more, whenever the client lets addons read your debuffs.

Every threshold is adjustable, every warning has its own switch, and there's an "only in dungeons and raids" option if you'd rather it stay quiet in the world.

## How it warns you

- **A sound** on the Master channel by default, so you hear it even with sound effects turned down.
- **A screen-edge flash:** red for big hits, orange for standing in something, blue for breath.
- **A message** in the middle of your screen that you can drag anywhere.

Mix and match all three. Test buttons let you preview each alert, and the window keeps a list of recent alerts so you can see what fired.

## Light on your game

Fire Watch only listens for events about you, not every nameplate in sight. The breath check only runs while a breath or fatigue bar is up. When Forever hides a value in combat, Fire Watch skips it instead of guessing.

## Commands

- `/firewatch` or `/pfw` opens the window
- `/firewatch on` / `off` turns alerts on or off
- `/firewatch test` previews an alert (`test big` and `test breath` for the others)
- `/firewatch unlock`, `lock`, `resetpos` moves, locks or resets the alert message
- `/firewatch minimap` shows or hides the minimap button

Minimap button: left-click opens the window, right-click previews an alert, shift-click turns alerts on or off.

## Part of the Campfire family

Fire Watch is a companion
