Profession Master

Everything about professions in one window: your own recipes, the professions of your whole guild, missing recipes with their sources, cooldowns, prices and profit, a leveling planner, a shopping list and a trade board.

Supports Classic Era and Season of Discovery, WoW Forever, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria.

Available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese.

Guild Profession Overview

Browse and search guild professions, craftable items, enchants and see if someone has the matching specialization

See which guild members can craft something and quickly find online players.

Guild Profession Overview

All players without the addon can find crafters by using the !who command in guild, party or raid chat, with an item link or a name:

!who spellpower

!who Healing Power

!who [Greater Fire Protection Potion]

The crafters answer by whisper, offline crafters are named too.

Leveling Planner

The leveling planner calculates the cheapest way from your current skill to your max skill.

  • Prices every reagent with all auction house offers, not just the cheapest one
  • Checks whether buying a recipe from the auction house makes leveling cheaper
  • Uses items from your bags, bank and mailbox first, they count as free
  • Works like a to do list that follows your skill ups, learned recipes and trained ranks
  • A small to do list window can stay open while you level
  • Take the whole plan into your shopping list with one click and send it to Auctionator or Auctionizer from there

Leveling Planner

Database

Browse every recipe of every profession or search for an item and see its tooltip, crafting cost, reagents, recipe source and who in your guild can craft it.

Mark favorites and put items on the shopping list straight from the database.

Database

Missing Recipes

Find recipes you have not learned yet and see exactly where they come from: recipe item, trainer, quest or discovery.

The tooltip names the trainer, the vendor or the quest giver together with the zone and the city, so you know where to go.

Missing Recipes

Cooldowns

Track profession cooldowns across your guild and see who is ready.

You get a reminder when one of your own cooldowns is up, and you decide whether your cooldowns are shared with the guild.

Cooldowns

Leveling Helper

See recipe difficulty ranges to plan profession leveling more efficiently, also supporting Ores and Herbs for Mining and Herbalism.

The skill bar of your own professions marks where Journeyman, Expert, Artisan and the later ranks begin.

Leveling Helper

Check Profit

Compare crafting costs and potential profit directly in the profession overview.

Auction House Prices

Profession Master brings its own auction house scan, so no other price addon is needed. Scan with the button at the auction house or with /pm scan, and let it scan automatically every time you open the auction house.

Soulbound reagents count as free, and you can set your own price for every reagent.

Shopping List

Add items, enchants, and materials to a shopping list. Profession Master checks your bags, bank and mail and shows missing reagents and their prices.

A small missing reagents window can stay open while you play, so you always see what is still missing.

Shopping List

Favorites

Mark items and enchants as favorites and find them again in their own list, in the guild overview as well as in your own professions.

Specializations

See guild profession specializations and which players have them.

Specializations

Tooltip Extensions

Adds profession info to item and recipe tooltips, including known crafters, learned status and reagent information.

Gathering nodes show how many skill points are still missing until the next difficulty stage.

Tooltip Extensions

Powerful Filters

Filter by search text, profession, category, subcategory, learned status, difficulty, and addon.

A green dot marks your own professions, a blue dot those of your alts. Holiday recipes show a gift icon.

Powerful Filters

Classic or Flat Look

Pick the look of all windows once, with a preview: the Classic look with the golden frame and the parchment of the selected profession, or the modern Flat look.

A scale slider in the settings sizes the windows to your screen.

Trade Board

Install the free companion addon Trade Board and Profession Master gets two more tabs: Requests and Offers.

  • Trade chat and yells are watched for WTB and WTS posts, sorted by item, enchant or profession
  • Guild members share their requests and offers, so your board stays full even outside the cities
  • Create your own requests and offers, shared with the guild or posted to trade chat, straight from the guild overview or the shopping list
  • Watch an item, an enchant or a whole profession and get an alert with sound, a popup and an optional whisper as soon as someone posts it
  • Mage, warlock and rogue services are picked up too: food, water, portals, summons and lockpicking

Both addons work on their own, and together they turn the profession window into a full trading window.

Auctionizer

Install the free companion addon Auctionizer and your missing reagents become its shopping list with one click. Auctionizer searches the auction house for them, marks the cheapest auctions and buys them click by click.

Profession Master uses Auctionizer in return, before Auctionator and TradeSkillMaster: its prices show up as reagent prices, a click on a reagent searches it in the buy tab, and the search all buttons of the shopping list and the missing reagents window fill its shopping list with the missing amounts.

Auctionator Integration

Search and price missing reagents directly with Auctionator.

Linked Accounts

Play on two accounts or want to see the professions of a friend outside your guild? Add one character of the other account in the settings, let the other side add one of yours, and both accounts exchange everything they know about the realm: characters, guilds, cooldowns and specializations.

The characters find each other over a hidden chat channel or the Battle.net friend list, so no whisper or manual step is needed.

Guild Tools

Export your guild professions as a list to share it outside the game, and see which guild members do not use Profession Master yet to invite them with one click.

Players on your ignore list are left out completely.

Chat Commands

  • /pm shows or hides the professions overview
  • /pm database shows or hides the database window
  • /pm reagents shows or hides the missing reagents window
  • /pm cooldowns shows or hides the cooldowns window
  • /pm scan scans the auction house prices
  • /pm minimap toggles the minimap icon

Vanilla Features

Profession Master adds additional profession-related functionality for Vanilla.

For example, you can link enchants directly in text chat using Profession Master, a feature that is normally only available by default in TBC.

Synchronization

Profession Master synchronizes profession data with guild members.

Data transfer is kept minimal by sending only new or changed profession data whenever possible, and the data is compressed before it is sent. A player relay system helps distribute data efficiently without every player repeatedly sending the same information. The addon shares its bandwidth fairly with all other addons, so raid and loot addons are never delayed.

API for Addon Authors

Other addons can ask Profession Master about recipes through the global table ProfessionMasterApi. It is read only, answers from login on and only ever grows, so an addon built on it keeps working with later versions.

  • IsReady() tells whether the api answers yet
  • GetRecipeInfo(recipeItemId) and GetRecipeInfoBySpell(spellId) return the crafting spell, the profession, the required skill, the difficulty ranges and the crafted item
  • IsRecipeKnown(recipeItemId) and IsRecipeKnownBySpell(spellId) tell whether your character knows the recipe
  • GetProfessionLevel(professionId) returns the skill level of your character

Ids are the ones of the game: the recipe item id, the spell id of the crafting recipe and the skill line id of the profession, for example 197 for Tailoring. Every function works with a dot or a colon call. Guild data is not part of the api.

Add ## OptionalDeps: ProfessionMaster to your TOC and check ProfessionMasterApi.Version for the functions you need:

local api = ProfessionMasterApi;
if (api and api.Version >= 1 and api.IsReady()) then
    local info = api.GetRecipeInfo(recipeItemId);
    if (info) then
        -- info.spellId, info.professionId, info.professionName, info.requiredSkill,
        -- info.difficulty = { orange, yellow, green, grey }, info.craftedItemId
        local known = api.IsRecipeKnown(recipeItemId); -- true, false or nil when nothing can tell yet
        local level = api.GetProfessionLevel(info.professionId);
        local canLearn = level and info.requiredSkill and level >= info.requiredSkill;
    end
end
