Pole-o-Matic

Pole-o-Matic is a lightweight, one-tap equipment swapper for World of Warcraft that seamlessly toggles between your combat weapons and your best fishing pole. It automatically caches your equipped main-hand and off-hand items, protects against bag space overflows, integrates natively with modern gamepad controls, and dynamically updates slot icons to reflect your current gear.

Features

Automatic Weapon Caching: Equipping your fishing pole automatically snapshots your currently equipped Main Hand and Off-Hand/Shield. Toggling back restores your exact weapon set.

Best-in-Bag Pole Detection: Automatically scans your bags and equips the fishing pole with the highest skill bonus.

Bag Space Protection: Prevents weapon swapping if your bags are completely full and unequipping a dual-wield weapon or off-hand shield would cause items to be lost or stuck.

Native Gamepad Support: Integrates directly with the native Gamepad UI.

Dynamic Icon State: The slot icon automatically flips between your best fishing pole (when armed for combat) and your saved Main Hand weapon (when holding a fishing pole).

Minimalist UI: The on-screen button is hidden by default to keep your interface clean, but can be enabled at any time if you prefer an on-screen click target.

How It Works

1. Equip your normal combat weapons (Main Hand and Off-Hand/Shield).

2. Trigger Pole-o-Matic via your chosen keybind, gamepad chord, or on-screen button.

3. Pole-o-Matic records your equipped weapons to character memory, searches your inventory for your highest-bonus fishing pole, and equips it.

4. When finished fishing, trigger Pole-o-Matic again. Your cached weapons are re-equipped to their designated slots automatically.

Controls & Bindings

1. Gamepad (Controller)

XBox format: Hold LB + RB, tap A

Playstation Controller: Hold L1 + R1, tap Cross (X)

2. Keyboard

ALT-F (Default): Assigned on initial load.

Can be customized or rebound at any time via the standard game menu: Game Menu (to) Keybindings (to) AddOns (to) Pole-o-Matic.

3. Floating On-Screen Button (Optional)

Left-Click: Toggle between weapons and fishing pole.

Shift + Left-Drag: Move the button anywhere on your screen.

Right-Click: Clear cached weapon memory and reset the button to the center of your screen.

Hover: Displays a tooltip showing your currently cached Main Hand and Off-Hand items.

Slash Commands

You can use /poleomatic, /pom, or /pole interchangeably:

Installation

1. Download the latest release zip.

2. Extract the zip into your World of Warcraft addons directory:

   World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns/
   
   

   (Ensure the final directory structure is Interface/AddOns/Pole-o-Matic/ containing Pole-o-Matic.toc and accompanying files).

3. Launch or reload World of Warcraft.
