Pedometer

A compact, Blizzard-style step counter that keeps track of every step your character takes.

Features

- Steps Total – your character's lifetime step count since you started using the addon, saved per character
- Steps Session – steps taken since you logged in
- Compact tooltip-style frame that blends in with the default UI
- Settings menu – click the gear icon in the top right corner to open it:
  - Adjustable background opacity (0–100%). Text and icons always stay fully visible
  - Lock position to prevent accidental dragging
  - Reset counter (Shift-click for safety)
- The settings menu closes automatically when you click anywhere else
- Drag to move the frame anywhere on your screen; its position is remembered
- Fully localized – automatically uses your game client's language: English, German, French, Spanish and Russian (other languages fall back to English)

How it works

Pedometer converts your character's movement speed into steps. Steps are not counted while mounted, flying, on a flight path, in a vehicle, falling or dead.

The step length is set to 1 yard per step by default. If you want a different value, change `STRIDE` at the top of `Pedometer.lua`.

Slash commands

- `/pedometer`, `/steps` – open or close the settings menu
- `/pedometer debug` – print debug information (useful for bug reports)

Installation

Use the CurseForge-Client

or

1. Download and extract the archive.
2. Copy the `Pedometer` folder into your `Interface/AddOns/` directory.
3. Restart the game. If the addon is shown as "out of date", enable *Load out of date AddOns*.
