MoveMyBag

Move your bags where you want them—while keeping Blizzard’s original interface.

MoveMyBag is a lightweight addon for World of Warcraft: Forever that lets you reposition the default combined bag window or the backpack in separate-bag mode. It does not create a replacement bag window.

Features

  • Shift + left-drag a free area of the bag window to move it outside combat.
  • Automatically saves your position between reloads, logouts, and game restarts.
  • Restores the saved position when opening supported, unprotected bag windows during combat.
  • Saves separate positions for the combined bag window and the individual backpack.
  • Uses account-wide settings.
  • No external libraries or configuration panel.

How to use

  1. Open your bags.
  2. Hold Shift and drag a free area of the window with the left mouse button.
  3. Release the mouse button to save the position.

Item slots, search fields, and buttons keep their normal interactions.

Commands

  • /movebag — Show help and the detected bag frame.
  • /movebag reset — Clear saved positions and restore Blizzard’s default layout. Resets requested during combat are applied after combat ends.

Languages

Automatically uses your client’s language: English, German, French, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

English is used as a fallback.

Compatibility

Designed for WoW: Forever. Supports Blizzard’s combined bag window and the individual backpack. Bank windows and other individual bags are not independently repositioned.

Other addons that replace or reposition bags may conflict with MoveMyBag.

Beta: Automated Lua tests cover core behavior and localization. Full in-game compatibility and taint testing are still pending. Please report issues with your client build, addon version, and any Lua error message.
