Instead of simply showing the cheapest auction, MarketPilot scans the market, filters extreme price anomalies, stores historical observations, and turns the data into practical market insights that are easier to understand.

## 🧠 Market Summary

MarketPilot does not expect you to understand statistics.

The **Current** tab includes a practical Market Summary that explains:

- The current reference price
- The central price band
- The lowest listing compared with the broader market
- Current listed quantity
- Whether unusual or extreme price levels were detected
- Whether there is enough data for reliable outlier analysis

Raw statistics remain available underneath for users who want the detail.

## 📈 Historical Context

The **History** tab converts stored observations into plain-language market context.

When enough data is available, MarketPilot explains:

- Whether the current price is above or below recent historical references
- Whether the market is trending upward or downward
- Whether current listed supply is unusually low or high
- Where the current price sits within its 30-day history
- Whether more observations are still required

Each historical metric is evaluated independently, so available information is shown without pretending missing data exists.

## 🛡️ Outlier Protection

Auction House markets can contain extremely high or low listings that distort simple averages.

MarketPilot analyzes prices in log space using robust statistical methods and classifies price levels as:

- Normal
- Suspicious
- Extreme

Suspicious levels remain in the market calculations.

Extreme levels are excluded from the clean market reference while remaining visible in the analysis.

## 🕒 Historical Analysis

Each completed scan stores only a compact statistical snapshot.

Raw Auction House listings are **not** permanently stored.

Over time, MarketPilot builds local history and calculates:

- Rolling market medians
- Percentage changes
- Historical percentile
- Robust trend
- Supply ratios
- Volatility
- Statistical significance

Historical metrics appear only when enough observations exist.

Missing prices are never converted to zero.

## 🖥️ Market Watch

Open the Auction House and use:

**Scan Gathering Markets**

MarketPilot will scan the configured gathering materials one at a time and update the Market Watch panel.

Selecting a material while the Auction House is open can also refresh its market data and open the matching Blizzard Auction House search.

Away from the Auction House, use the minimap icon to open your stored market data in read-only mode.

## ⚙️ Performance

MarketPilot is intentionally lightweight:

- No external libraries
- No continuous OnUpdate market processing
- No background Auction House scanning
- No automatic buying or selling
- No automated posting
- No full Auction House replication
- Raw auction rows are not stored
- Historical data is compact and automatically limited
- Existing history and settings are preserved between updates
