Loreward

A completionist quest guide for WoW: Forever, with a tour guide's eye for the story. Built on the free RestedXP Guides addon.

Most leveling guides race you to the cap. Loreward takes the scenic route: every quest in a zone, in an efficient order, before you move on. Short notes tell you about the places and people you pass along the way.

What you get

• Every quest, in order. Each zone guide gathers the quests that sit together, sends you out once, and brings you back to hand them all in. Dungeon quests are collected by their own dungeon guides, so they don't clutter your zone runs.
• Your class and race, built in. Class and race quests sit right in the zone guides. Each character sees only the ones they can take, including Forever's new ones, such as the Undead Paladin's class quests.
• A tour guide. Enter a named place, target a notable figure or pass a landmark, and a short note tells you its story. Notes appear as a parchment card and a chat line, and can be read aloud.
• An arrow that knows the way. For kill and collect areas, the arrow circles the whole area. Single targets get their own step. Travel follows roads and passes instead of pointing across a mountain range.
• Made for questing together. In a group, escort quests wait until you accept them yourself, so nobody starts one before the party is ready. A slim panel under RestedXP's window shows how far each party member is on the step's quests.
• See how far you are. The same panel shows how many of the zone's quests you've finished, counting only the ones your class and race can do.
• Kind to your quest log. The guides never fill your log past Forever's limit. Escort quests always leave room for a party member to join from the popup.
• Read every quest, or don't. A quick setup box lets you choose whether RestedXP accepts and hands in quests for you inside Loreward's guides, or you do it yourself.
• Accessible. Card size, a high-contrast theme, background opacity, how long cards stay, reduced motion, a sound cue and read aloud. Every option also has a slash command.
• Picks up where you left off. If RestedXP ever loses your place, Loreward reopens the right guide from your quests.

What's covered

• Horde: every starting zone to level 60:
  • Deathknell and Tirisfal, the Valley of Trials and Durotar, Camp Narache and Mulgore, and Zephras Isle for the Skyborne;
  • the full route through the Barrens, Silverpine, Ashenvale, Stranglethorn, Tanaris, the Plaguelands and more;
  • dungeon guides from Ragefire Chasm to Stratholme;
  • the Onyxia attunement and Dungeon Set 2;
  • a "Level 60 class quests" folder.
• Alliance: levels 1-30 so far, with more zones in each update:
  • the starting zones: Northshire and Elwynn Forest, Coldridge Valley and Dun Morogh, Shadowglen and Teldrassil, and Zephras Isle for the Skyborne;
  • then Westfall, Loch Modan, Darkshore and Redridge;
  • from 18, one route for every race to 30, through Duskwood, Redridge, the Wetlands, Ashenvale and Stonetalon, with a second visit to all but Redridge;
  • the level-20 class quests, including the paladins' Test of Righteousness;
  • dungeon guides for the Deadmines, the Stockade, the Hall of Thanes, Gnomeregan, the Ruins of Lordaeron, Shadowfang Keep, the Wailing Caverns, Blackfathom Deeps and Razorfen Kraul.

Raids aren't guided; attunements stop at the raid door.

Getting started

1. Install RestedXP Guides. The CurseForge app does this for you, as it's a required dependency.
2. Log in. Your race's starting guide opens in RestedXP, or you can pick any Loreward guide from RestedXP's guide menu. They're grouped by level.
3. Answer the short Set up Loreward box, and play.

/loreward help lists every command, and /loreward options opens the options page.

During the beta

Loreward is built for WoW: Forever and is being tested on the beta. Content above about level 30 is built from Classic data and Forever's datamined quests, not yet from play. Some quests, NPCs or positions may differ until launch, and the guides are updated as play confirms them.

Want to help? Loreward Scribe, a separate optional addon, quietly records your questing. You can then share it by copy and paste, to fill gaps and confirm the guides for Forever.
