Loreward Scribe
Help build Loreward, the completionist quest guide for WoW: Forever, just by playing.
Loreward's guides are only as good as what players actually see in Forever. Scribe is a small, optional companion addon. It quietly notes the quest details you meet as you play, and you can share them with a copy and paste. Your notes help confirm the guides, fix what Forever changed, and fill in quests nobody has mapped yet.
Scribe only asks when it has findings. It comes with a list of what the guides already know, so it asks you to share only what they don't have yet: a quest they don't know, a giver or objective that differs, an NPC standing somewhere new, an answer to one of the guides' open questions, or a second sighting of something only one player has confirmed. When there's nothing new, it stays quiet.
You don't need Loreward to use Scribe, and Loreward doesn't need Scribe.
What it records
- Quests: who offers each one and who takes it back, where, its objectives, and what the quest says.
- NPCs and places: where quest givers stand, where your targets are, and which subzone you're in.
- Progress: which kills and loot move a quest forward.
- Your own notes:
/scribe note <text>, for anything you'd like the guide to know.
Never recorded: other players, chat, or anything unrelated to quests, NPCs and places. Scribe doesn't use the combat log.
Sharing, simply
- Play normally.
- When Scribe has findings, press Esc. A small Loreward Scribe box beside the game menu says what they are, for example "3 findings for the guides: 1 quest we don't know and 2 answers to open questions". No findings, no box.
- Click Copy for sharing, press Ctrl+C, and paste it in the Loreward Discord: https://discord.gg/tFDavRQXAj
You can also open the same window with /scribe export, or from the addons button by the minimap. A finding you've shared isn't asked for again. /scribe export all shares everything Scribe kept, if Renrut asks for it on the Discord.
- Anonymous by default. The text holds your class, race, faction and level, not your character name: Scribe even puts Blizzard's
$Nback where a quest text names you. Tick Credit me if you'd like the name of the character you're playing in the thanks. - One character at a time. Each share holds only the character you're playing, so your characters are never tied together. Log in on another character to share its play.
- No hurry. Scribe keeps what it records between sessions, so share whenever it suits you. Sending the same data twice does no harm.
/scribe reminder offturns off the box if you'd rather share only by command.
See what's most useful
/scribe todolists the open questions in the zone you're in, such as "Is this NPC still here?" or "Is this quest offered to every class?". Each one ticks itself off as Scribe records the answer./scribe todo 3 <what you found>answers one by hand./scribe todo plansuggests which race and class to level in which zone so your play answers the most questions.

Loreward Scribe is written by Renrut and released under the MIT license. Every contribution is credited in Loreward's description, by name if you choose.
If you'd like to say thanks, you can buy Renrut a coffee on Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/renrut. It's entirely optional: Scribe and Loreward stay free, with nothing locked behind it.
