Krakenfriends
Your journey with a friend, counted. Krakenfriends is a play-together addon for two players. Group up with a friend, and everything you do as a duo is tracked: kills, loot, gold, dungeons and the small moments in between. It's built for a pair adventuring side by side, not for raids or big groups.
What it tracks
- Kills by creature type: humanoids, beasts, undead, demons and more, each with its own icon, plus elites, rares and bosses
- Rivalry: killing blows, items looted and deaths, you vs. your friend
- Dungeon runs: per dungeon, with bosses, time inside and your recent runs
- Loot by rarity: gray to epic and beyond, with names kept for green items and better
- Shared gold: what you looted together, and your own share
- Trivia: time together, quests completed, levels gained, zones explored, your most hunted foe, your toughest foe, your favorite dungeon
- A journal of your firsts and milestones: first rare, first epic, 1,000 kills, new zones, level-ups, with small pop-ups when you hit one
You, your friend, and all your alts
- Your friend is recognised through Battle.net (BattleTag), so when they log onto an alt it joins the same journey automatically. A friend who isn't on your Battle.net list is remembered by character name instead.
- All of your own characters share one journey, so your alts add up too.
- Every pairing of characters (for example Mage & Priest, or your alt with theirs) is its own chapter, with its own counters, foes, loot, dungeon runs and journal. See the whole story, or click a chapter to look at one pair only.
- Prefer a different partner? Each friend gets their own separate journey.
Together means together
Counting only happens while your friend is in your group, online, and close by (in sight or in the same zone). Nothing is counted while you're apart, and the minimap button shows when tracking is active: green when you're together, amber when you're grouped but apart.
Getting started
- Group up with your friend.
- Accept the Krakenfriends prompt, or target them and type
/kf partner. - Play! Open the journal any time with
/kfor the minimap button.
Want a preview first? Type /kf demo to fill the window with sample data (type it again to remove it).
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/kf | Open or close the window |
/kf partner [name] | Start a journey with your target or a named group member |
/kf status | Show whether tracking is active |
/kf demo | Add or remove sample data to preview the window |
/kf minimap | Show or hide the minimap button |
/kf toasts | Turn milestone pop-ups on or off |
/kf reset | Reset the journey shown in the window |
/kf debug | Print detected kills, loot and runs to chat |
Good to know
- Both of you can install it. Each player keeps their own journal; the two copies don't sync with each other.
- Keep enemy nameplates on (default key
V). That is how the addon learns a creature's type. A kill it never saw that way still counts, as "Unidentified". - Shared gold is split evenly in group loot, so the "gold together" total counts both shares: it's twice your share of each split pile.
- Everything is stored compactly: counters, plus each item name once.
