KillFX is a lightweight combat notification addon engineered specifically for the modern World of Warcraft: Forever interface architecture. It intercepts the client's updated API event streams to deliver immediate, punchy visual feedback whenever you land a killing blow on an opponent.
Here are the primary features integrated into the addon's codebase:
  • Real-Time Kill Tracking: The engine registers directly with the client's modern PARTY_KILL event stream. It extracts payload GUIDs and safely isolates your character’s unique signature. This ensures that the splash alert triggers exclusively when you deliver the final, decisive blow.
  • Dynamic Splash Visuals: When a kill is confirmed, the UI generates a striking layout consisting of a red placeholder splash texture coupled with customizable typography. The system utilizes standard game font metrics (FRIZQT__.TTF) to construct a high-visibility, dual-color alert banner. It displays a bold yellow "KILL!" announcement paired with the victim's name in pure white.
  • Smooth Animation Framework: The notification uses a built-in animation group to prevent UI clutter. It instantly triggers a sharp, outward scale animation (from 72% up to 100% size) over 0.18 seconds to grab your attention. This is followed by a clean, 0.5-second fade-out transition after a brief delay.
