ItemControlForever
Automatically updates macros based on your bag contents — no manual macro editing required.
Works for World of Warcraft: Forever (Classic+).
It will create 7 macros in your General tab (requires 7 free macro slots):

  • ICFManaPotion — Best mana potion in your bags. Usable anywhere (open world, dungeons, raids, PvP) — the BG-only "Draught" potions are intentionally excluded since they can't be used outside Battlegrounds.
  • ICFHealingPotion — Best healing potion in your bags. Same anywhere-usable rule as above.
  • ICFHealthstone — Best Healthstone in your bags (Warlock-created, Minor through Major).
  • ICFBandage — Best First Aid bandage in your bags that your First Aid skill allows (Dense Runecloth down to Linen). Heals your friendly target if you have one, otherwise yourself. Battleground-only bandages are excluded.
  • ICFScroll — One click applies your best basic stat scrolls: Agility, Strength, Intellect, Spirit, Protection and Stamina. Picks the highest rank you carry and can use, skips stats you have no scroll for, then returns to your previous target. Mage-only scrolls are not included.
  • ICFDrink — Best pure mana-restore water in your bags.
  • ICFEat — Best pure health-restore food in your bags.

Every consumable pick follows one hard rule: only items that purely restore mana or health. No "Well Fed" stat/XP buffs, no alcohol, no PvP-Battleground-only potions, and no look-alikes (Mender's Potions are spell power buffs, Discolored Healing Potions deal damage back) make the list — even when the excluded item is technically the bigger number. Every item was individually verified against the live WoW: Forever tooltip database (patch 1.60.1): 75 food items, 19 water items, 13 mana potions, 15 healing potions, all 5 Healthstones, 12 bandages, and 24 stat scrolls, cross-checked against Wowhead's full Forever listings. Mage-conjured food, water and potions are included, along with the dual health-and-mana restores (like Major Rejuvenation Potion and the Manna Biscuits).

Items above your character level (and bandages above your First Aid skill) are skipped, so a level 34 player carrying level 35 water gets the best water they can actually use. Macros re-check automatically when you level up.

When you're carrying none of a category, each macro falls back to the cheapest item everyone can get (for example Minor Mana Potion and Minor Healing Potion), so the macro never ends up blank.

These macros update automatically out of combat on zone change and bag update.
Note: Due to WoW's secure combat lockdown system, macro editing during combat is not possible for any addon. Macros update immediately when combat ends.
Disclaimer: Forever is a leveling-focused Classic+ server, so unlike ItemControl's level-58+ TBC tuning, these macros prioritize the best item you currently have access to at any level from 1 to 60.
Type /icfdbg in-game to print current zone, water/food/potion/Healthstone/bandage/scroll selection, and macro bodies for troubleshooting.

ItemControlForever is a sibling project to ItemControl (TBC Anniversary), rebuilt on Forever's retail-style API (C_Item, C_Spell, C_Map) and adapted from the ground up for Forever's expanded consumable item pool.
