Hunter's Field Guide is a beast journal for hunters in WoW Forever and WoW Classic Era.

How it works

Target a tameable beast and it is added to your journal with its name, level, family and location. Cast Beast Lore on it, or tame it, to reveal the abilities and ranks it teaches.

Features

  • Every tameable beast: 590 in 18 families in Forever (including the new Fox family and abilities), 557 in 17 families in Classic Era
  • Family pages with stats, diet and your progress
  • Ability pages showing every rank, its pet level and which beasts teach it
  • Tracks which ranks your pet already knows, and the beasts your pets were tamed from
  • Your progress: beasts found, beasts studied and ability ranks known
  • 3D model of each beast
  • Favorites, and a filter for fast, rare, learnable and nearby beasts
  • Spawn map in the journal, and optional pins on the world map that open the beast's page
  • Search by beast, family, zone or ability
  • Beast info in tooltips, and an optional panel under the target frame
  • A separate journal for one character, if you want a fresh start on an alt
  • Choice of the classic or the new Forever spellbook look (Forever)
  • In English, Korean, German, French and Spanish

Two ways to use it

In immersive mode (the default), beasts and abilities stay hidden until you find and study them yourself. In reveal all mode, everything is shown from the start, as a complete reference. You can switch in the settings at any time, and your progress is kept either way.

Commands

  • /fg opens the journal
  • /fg config opens the settings
  • /fg export exports beasts and locations the addon did not know about

Feedback

Please report any issues in the comments. If the addon logs a new beast, zone or ability, you can share it with /fg export so it can be added in an update. Translation corrections are welcome too.
