How to install

The CurseForge app does not always know about the Forever beta, so its Install button can sit on "Processing Deep Link Request" and never finish. Two ways that work:

1. Click Download instead. Unzip it and put the ForeverHardcore folder in World of Warcraft_classic_beta_InterfaceAddOns

2. Or add World of Warcraft: Forever as a game in the CurseForge app first, pointed at your _classic_beta_ folder. After that, Install works.

Then log in and type /hardcore.

ForeverHardcore shows the world you are playing hardcore, keeps your guild honest about the rules, and connects you to a realm-wide death log where deaths are confirmed by other players instead of self-reported.

A HARDCORE badge on your screen

Your name, level, guild, and whether you are alive or dead. It turns red and reads DEAD the moment you die. It also shows how many hardcore players at your exact level are still alive, how rare your level is, and which zone has killed the most people today. Drag it anywhere, resize it, lock it in place, and put your own line of text along the bottom.

Deaths are witnessed, not claimed

This is the part that matters. When you die, your client sends one death ping. Other players who can actually see you in their guild roster at that level send back a confirmation. A death is only written into the log once more than three other players have confirmed it, or once your own guild has verified it. Somebody who wants to fake a death has to find four other people willing to lie with them.

Deaths pop up on screen

When a death is confirmed anywhere on the realm, a banner fades in over the middle of your screen with who died, at what level, where, and what killed them, plus a sound. Your own death gets a YOU DIED version.

You decide how much of it you want. Limit the popups to your own guild, ignore low levels, mute the sound, or turn them off entirely. Your own death always shows.

Last words, without anyone typing them

The addon quietly remembers the last thing you said in chat. When you die it goes out with the death and shows on everyone's screen. "Pulling one more, easy" hits differently under a death banner.

Close calls

Drop under 15% health in a fight and you get a warning, and your guild is told so they can watch it happen. It will not fire again until you heal back up, so a long fight cannot spam anyone.

See everyone running the addon

Guild or not. /hardcore lists who is alive right now and the deaths that just happened. Hovering a player adds a Hardcore line to their tooltip so you know at a glance whether they are one of us and whether they are still alive.

A ruleset your guild master controls

All off by default. Flip one on and every member's game picks it up within seconds:

No trading. No auction house. No mailbox. No guild bank. No grouping outside dungeons. Each dungeon once per character. No battlegrounds. Death announcements in guild chat.

When a rule is on, the addon closes that window the moment it opens and writes down the attempt. Completing the action anyway is recorded as a violation.

Hunter Feign Death is not counted as a death.

Three looks

/fhc style blood, /fhc style dark, and /fhc style minimal. Minimal removes the panel completely and leaves outlined text, which is what you want sitting over a stream overlay.

Nothing leaves the game

No accounts, no website calls, no tracking. Everything is in-game chat and your own SavedVariables files.

Who made this

ForeverHardcore is built by <Fangs With Benefits>, Horde, PvP, launching Tuesday November 4. Every class is open to Horde in Forever, Paladin included. We need tanks, healers and DPS for Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia when raids unlock December 9, and people who want world PvP before that.

Forever is realmless and cross-ruleset grouping does not work, so roll Horde on PvP or you cannot play with us.

The realm-wide death log speaks the same protocol as the Classic Hardcore addon by the Classic Hardcore team, so the two can see each other's deaths. ForeverHardcore is a separate implementation written for the Forever client and ships none of their code.
