Forever: Storyteller

On Forever, it's about the journey, not the destination.

Every day in Azeroth, Forever: Storyteller quietly writes down what your character actually did. Quests turned in, dungeons cleared, herbs picked, deaths survived, spells learned, zones walked for the first time. All of it ends up on parchment pages in a book you can open inside the game and read like a real journal.

The book opens with /story and lives entirely inside WoW. Months from now you can flip back through it and see the day you first entered a zone, the dungeon that took three tries, and the evening you spent doing nothing but fishing.

The Novel

Every day you play becomes a chapter in an ongoing novel, dated and set in the zones you visited. The book doesn't only list events, it writes them into prose. The morning walk into a new zone, the string of quest turn-ins in the afternoon, the quiet hour gathering at dusk.

• A new chapter for every day you play, ordered chronologically from start to now
• A prologue written at level 1, so the story begins where your character began
• Opening scenes that fit the time of day and transitions that react to what just happened, so chapters don't read like copies of each other
• Chapter titles you can rename yourself by clicking the title on the chapter's first page

The Log

Behind the novel sits the Log, a daily ledger for people who just want the numbers. Every calendar day starts on a fresh page with its date, and sections flow over two columns and onto the next page when a day earns it.

• Gathered, mined, hunted and caught goods, counted per item with tally marks drawn in a handwritten tally font
• Special loot at or above your chosen rarity, and only loot you actually received
• Dungeon runs, every entry counted, not just the first
• Quests grouped per zone per day, hover a line to see which quests they were
• Notes for everything else, timestamped

Companions

Everyone you have ever grouped with gets their own card. Name, class, race, how many times you grouped and what you did together. Sort the columns, see who your regulars are, and write a note per person for the details you will be glad you kept.

Achievements

The book also tracks your milestones. First dungeon, first mount, first guild, first battleground, first raid, level milestones and zones discovered. The moments that shape a character's story get their own place instead of disappearing in a chat log.

Make it yours

• Novel, cover, ribbons, companions, achievements and log each have their own font and size
• The Log counts in tally strokes by default, or plain numbers with one checkbox
• English and Dutch support, switch in the settings and the whole book comes along
• Your chronicle survives reloads, relogs and months of play, and the novel can be rewritten from the archive at any time

Using it

• /story opens your book, the minimap button does the same
• /story config jumps straight to the settings
• Interface, AddOns, Forever: Storyteller shows the same settings the Blizzard way
• /story rewrite rewrites the novel from your archived history
