# FallenWhisper
### All your whispers in one clean, quest log–style window, built for **WoW: Forever**.

Tired of whispers scrolling away in a busy chat frame? **FallenWhisper** puts every private conversation in **one tidy window**: names on the left, the conversation on the right, just like the quest log you already know.

## ✨ Why FallenWhisper?

- **One window, every conversation.** No pop-up spam. New whispers never open extra windows.
- **Instant messages.** Your whisper appears the moment you press Enter and gets a ✓ once the server delivers it. On laggy servers you'll never wonder "did that send?" again.
- **Feels native.** Blizzard-style frame, parchment background, class colors and quality-colored item links.
- **Lightweight.** No heavy frameworks: just a few standard libraries and the addon itself.

## 💬 Messaging

- Press **R**, type **/w name** or **/r**, or click a name in chat: FallenWhisper opens with the reply box ready.
- **Item links** keep their quality colors (green, blue, purple, orange). Hover for the tooltip, and shift-click items into the reply box.
- **Your guild's name** is highlighted in guild-chat green when someone mentions it.
- **Quick replies:** send "brb", "in a dungeon" and similar messages with one click. The list is editable.
- **Saved history:** up to 200 messages per person, saved per character.

## 👥 Know who you're talking to

- **Status dots:** 🟢 online · 🟡 AFK · 🔴 DND · ⚪ offline.
- **G / F tags** mark guild members and friends.
- **Header info:** level, class and zone for guild members and friends.
- **"Player not online"** notices and **AFK/DND auto-replies** appear inside the conversation, not in your main chat.

## 🔔 Never miss a whisper

- **Minimap button** with a red unread badge and a tooltip listing who wrote.
- **Toast notification** when a whisper arrives while the window is closed. Click it to jump straight in.
- **Optional extra sound:** whisper, raid warning, ready check, map ping or invite.
- **Combat-aware:** by default the window waits until combat ends before opening.

## 🧰 Handy tools

- **Pin** important conversations to the top.
- **Search** across names and message text.
- **Copy** a whole conversation as plain text.
- **Right-click any name:** whisper, pin, invite, add friend, ignore, /who, copy name, copy conversation, delete.
- **Spam filter** for strangers. Guild members, friends and people you've talked to are never filtered, and the keyword list is editable.

## 🎨 Make it yours

- **Resizable window** (drag the bottom-right corner), **scale** and **background opacity**.
- **Font & font size** options, with LibSharedMedia fonts supported.
- **Options panel:** use the **Options** button, right-click the minimap button, or type `/fw config`.
- **Quick tour** on first login, replayable any time with `/fw intro`.
- Optionally hide whispers from the default chat so they only appear in FallenWhisper.

## 🔌 Compatibility

- **LibDBIcon / LibDataBroker:** works with minimap button bags, **Titan Panel** and **ElvUI** datatexts (shows your unread count).
- Shift-click linking and keybindings work like the default UI.
- **Keybindings** (Key Bindings → AddOns): *Toggle window* and *Reply to last whisper*.

## ❓ FAQ

**Whispers take a long time to arrive. Is it the addon?**
No. Any delay comes from the server and happens with the addon disabled too. FallenWhisper shows your own messages instantly and marks them ✓ once delivered.

**Can I use it together with WIM or Prat?**
Prat is fine. With WIM, disable WIM's whisper windows (or FallenWhisper's `/fw reply`) so the two don't fight over the R key.

**Will I lose my conversations when updating?**
No. History and settings are saved per character in your WTF folder and survive updates.

**Pressing R opens the default chat instead.**
Make sure `/fw reply` is on. You can also bind **Reply to last whisper** under Key Bindings → AddOns.
