About
EzKOS is a guild kill-on-sight addon for World of Warcraft: Forever. Everyone in the guild shares one KOS list, and almost everything happens on its own.
- Shared list. Officers add players by hand; everyone's killers are added automatically. Changes reach every guildmate running EzKOS within seconds, including people who log in later.
- Auto-add. Whoever kills you goes on the list as "Ganked guildmate <you> in <zone>", every attacker in a group gank, not just the killing blow. This needs "Tell the guild when I'm slain" (on by default).
- Spotted alerts. When a KOS player's nameplate, target or mouseover shows up, you get a sound, the EzKOS alert banner (red) and a popup with a Target button. Guildmates get a yellow banner and a "KOS spotted" line with a clickable coordinates link (like
[42, 67]) to where you saw them. - Rally. When a guildmate dies to an enemy player, the guild gets an orange banner, a sound, the attackers' names and a clickable coordinates link to the spot they died. Clicking a link (or Waypoint on the popup) sets a map waypoint.
- Enemy guilds. Members of guilds officers have marked get a quieter alert.
- Leaderboard. Kills on KOS players and enemy-guild members count. It ranks by kills you took part in, with killing blows in a second column, for all time, this month and this week (weeks start at the Tuesday reset).
- Expiry. Entries drop off after 30 days unseen, unless an officer marks them permanent.
- Alert banner. EzKOS has its own banner with the logo, colored by alert type, that fades after a few seconds. By default it sits just above Blizzard's raid warnings and the popup sits just below them, so nothing overlaps. Move both with
/kos move. - One list per guild. Alts in other guilds never see your guild's list. Leaving or being kicked pauses EzKOS until you rejoin.
Only open-world PvP counts: kills, deaths and sightings in battlegrounds, arenas and dungeons are ignored.
No typing is needed in combat. Everything combat-related works through popups, buttons and a keybind.
Install
Every guild member installs the addon. It takes about two minutes.
- Install EzKOS from CurseForge: curseforge.com/wow/addons/ezkos. In the CurseForge app, search for "EzKOS" under World of Warcraft (Forever) and click Install.
- Manual install: download the zip from that page and unzip it into your game's
InterfaceAddOnsfolder.EzKOS.tocmust sit directly insideAddOnsEzKOS, not one level deeper.
- Manual install: download the zip from that page and unzip it into your game's
- Log in. Chat shows
EzKOS: v... loaded. - Turn on enemy nameplates (Ctrl+V). EzKOS sees enemies through nameplates, your target and mouseover.
- Bind Target latest KOS: Esc → Options → Keybindings → AddOns → EzKOS.
- Optional: Esc → Options → AddOns → EzKOS for alert level, sounds, and the banner and popup position (Move).
The CurseForge app keeps it updated. For a manual install, replace the folder and /reload. Your data is kept either way.
On a PvE realm, spotting works without a PvP flag. Kills and deaths only count when both sides are flagged (/pvp).
Commands
You only need /kos. The rest is optional. Names with a last name work as Idek Man, Idek-Man or "Idek Man".
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/kos | Open the KOS list |
/kos remove <name> | Remove a player (whoever added them, or an officer) |
/kos top | Leaderboard: slayers / most wanted, all time / month / week |
/kos alerts all|zone|off | Guild alerts: everywhere (default), your zone only, or none |
/kos options | Settings panel |
/kos move | Move the alert banner and the popup with its Target button (/kos move reset puts them back) |
/kos status | Sync status and your guild rank |
/kos sync | Ask guildmates for missed updates |
/kos help | List the commands in game |
In the list window:
- Click a row to target that player.
- Right-click a row to edit its reason.
- Shift-right-click a row to remove them. A confirm box appears first.
The minimap addon drawer has an EzKOS entry: left-click opens the list, right-click the leaderboard.
Officer commands
Officers are the GM and the rank directly below the GM (guild ranks 0 and 1). Their settings apply to everyone's addon automatically.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/kos add [name] [reason] | Add a player by hand (no name adds your target; reasons are 60 characters max). Also: Add target in the list window, or right-click a player → Add to KOS |
/kos perm <name> / /kos unperm <name> | Keep an entry forever, or let it expire normally |
/kos guild add|remove <guild> | Mark or unmark an enemy guild |
/kos expiry <days> | Days unseen before entries drop off (default 30, 0 = never) |
/kos discord off|bot|addon | What EzKOS posts to guild chat for Discord (see Discord setup) |
/kos bulk | Bulk edit (see below) |
Bulk edit: run /kos bulk, or click Bulk edit in the list window. Tick rows by clicking them, or use Page / All / None. Then choose Remove, Perm, Unperm or Set reason. Each action asks to confirm. On the Guilds tab, bulk edit removes enemy guilds.
Officers can also remove or edit the reason on any entry. Members can only remove or edit entries they added.
Discord setup
EzKOS reaches Discord through Blizzard's own guild chat link: it posts short [EzKOS] lines in guild chat, and the link relays them to your Discord channel.
1. Link guild chat to Discord (GM or an officer, once)
- Open the Guild window → guild settings → Discord, pick the channel and click Link.
- Each member who wants it: Esc → Options → Social → Enable Discord Functionality.
- Check it works:
/kos discordtestposts a test line that should appear in the linked channel within seconds.
2. Pick a Discord mode (officer)
| Mode | Guild chat gets | Weekly and monthly winners |
|---|---|---|
/kos discord off (default) | Nothing | Not posted |
/kos discord addon (recommended) | Kill and death lines | Posted by EzKOS in guild chat |
/kos discord bot | Kill and death lines | Not posted by EzKOS (for guilds whose own bot posts them) |
What the lines look like:
[EzKOS] KILL Stabby by Bob*,Alice in Duskwood(a guildmate kill;*marks the killing blow)[EzKOS] SLAIN Bob by Stabby in Duskwood(a guildmate died to an enemy player)[EzKOS] WINNERS week ...(addon mode only, after each Tuesday reset;monthon the 1st)
Discord lines name the zone only; map coordinates stay inside the addon. Anyone can hide [EzKOS] lines from their own chat in Options.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| My list is missing entries others have | /kos sync, then wait about 15 seconds |
| No alerts for nearby KOS players | Turn on enemy nameplates (Ctrl+V), and check /kos alerts isn't off |
| "Only officers or whoever added them" | Ask the person who added them, or an officer |
| The list or a setting won't change in combat | Expected: secure buttons can't change in combat. Try again after |
| Nothing reaches Discord | Check an officer set /kos discord addon or bot, then try /kos discordtest |
| EzKOS says it's paused | You're not in a guild (left or kicked). Your data is kept and comes back when you rejoin; a different guild starts with its own list |
| Something errored | Install BugGrabber + BugSack and send the error text to the addon maintainer |
