**Tired of Trade chat full of Russian, Chinese and Korean spam? English Only automatically hides chat messages that aren't written in English, so General, Trade, LFG and the rest stay readable.

** ## Features

• Hides non-English messages in **all numbered channels** (General, Trade, LookingForGroup, LocalDefense and custom channels)
•  Also filters Say, Yell, Whispers, Party, Raid, Guild and Instance chat. Each type can be switched off separately
• Detects **non-Latin scripts** reliably: Cyrillic (Russian etc.), Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Greek and Thai - Detects **Latin-script languages** with a common-word and accent check: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Turkish 
• Ignores item links, spell links, colour codes, raid icons and URLs, so `WTS [Linen Cloth]` posts aren't blocked by mistake 
• Never filters your own messages - Lets through any message it can't safely read, so it won't cause Lua errors 
• Three sensitivity levels (loose, normal, strict) so you can tune it to your taste
• Settings are saved between sessions
• Lightweight, with no libraries and no setup

• Use /eo or /englishonly
• /eo on  -  /eo off | Turn the filter on or off | 
• /eo status | Show your current settings |
• /eo mode loose - normal - strict | Set how aggressively Latin-script languages are detected |
• /eo latin on or off | Turn Spanish/French/German/etc. detection on or off |
• /eo allow <code> | Allow a script through (ru gr zh ja ko ar he th) |
• /eo block <code> | Block a script again |
• /eo chat <type> on or off | Turn filtering on or off for a chat type (channel say yell whisper party raid guild instance) |
• /eo log | Show the last 10 blocked messages | 
• /eo debug | Print each message as it is blocked |

** ## How It Works

Non-Latin scripts are caught by their character ranges, which is very reliable. Latin-script languages are guessed from common words and accented letters, so very short messages (like a single "hola") can occasionally slip through. If an English message gets blocked or a foreign one gets through, use /eo log to see what was caught, and try a different /eo mode

** ## Installation

1. Download and unzip the addon
2. Put the EnglishOnly folder in your Interface/Addons folder
3. /reload if that doesn't work close and reload the client
