BetterRations

BetterRations keeps three macros up to date with the best item in your bags:

The addon creates the macros on your first login. Open /macro, find them on the General tab, and drag them to your action bars. After that you never touch them again. Loot a better bread and BR Eat switches to it.

How it picks

• It only considers items you can use. Food above your level and bandages above your First Aid skill are skipped.
• The item that restores the most wins. Food that restores health and mana counts for both BR Eat and BR Drink.
• At equal strength, conjured food and water go first, then your smallest stack, so your bags empty out.
• Buff food (Well Fed) stays out of BR Eat unless you turn it on. You probably want to save it for the buff.

In combat

BR Eat uses your best healthstone in combat and food outside it, from the same button.

With potions turned on, BR Drink uses your best mana potion in combat, and BR Eat steps through healthstone and healing potion: the first press in a fight uses the stone, the second the potion, and the order starts over when the fight ends. Without a healthstone it uses the potion straight away.

WoW doesn't let addons edit macros during combat, so if your bags change mid-fight, the macros catch up when combat ends.

With nothing to use, the macro stays on your bar and says so when you click it: "no food", "no drink" or "no usable bandage".

Settings

Open Options > AddOns > BetterRations, or type /br options.

• Buff food in BR Eat: off by default.
• Healthstone in combat: on by default.
• Potions in combat: off by default.

Commands

• /br: shows which item each macro uses, in and out of combat, and how many you carry
• /br options: opens the settings
• /br buff: toggles buff food in BR Eat
• /br potions: toggles potions in combat
• /br perf: scan count, timings and memory

Languages

BetterRations knows what every food, drink, bandage, potion and healthstone restores from a table built from the game's own data, so it works in every client language. Built for the WoW Forever beta.
