# AsmonMute
Tired of the same name in every chat channel? **AsmonMute** automatically hides any chat message that mentions **Asmon** or **Asmongold**, and mutes the player who sent it. After that, everything they say is hidden for good.
## Features
- **Automatic detection:** catches "Asmon", "Asmongold", and any capitalization, even when the name is inside an item or player link.
- **Permanent mute:** once someone triggers the filter, every future message from them is hidden, not just the one that mentioned the name.
- **Ignore list support:** muted players are also added to your in-game Ignore list by default. You can turn this off.
- **No limit on mutes:** the addon keeps its own mute list, so it keeps working after your in-game Ignore list is full.
- **Custom trigger words:** add or remove any words you want filtered.
- **Covers all main chat:** Say, Yell, Emote, Whispers, Guild, Officer, Party, Raid, Raid Warning, Instance, and all numbered channels (General, Trade, LookingForGroup, etc.).
- **Never mutes you:** your own messages are never filtered.
- **Saved between sessions:** your mute list, trigger words, and settings are kept across logouts and reloads.
## Commands
You can use `/asmute` or `/asmonmute`.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| `/asmute` | Shows whether filtering is on, your settings, and how many players are muted |
| `/asmute help` | Lists all commands in chat |
| `/asmute toggle` | Turns the filter on or off |
| `/asmute ignore` | Turns adding muted players to your in-game Ignore list on or off |
| `/asmute notify` | Turns the chat message that appears when someone gets muted on or off |
| `/asmute list` | Lists every muted player |
| `/asmute unmute <name>` | Unmutes a player and takes them off your Ignore list |
| `/asmute clear` | Unmutes everyone (your in-game Ignore list is not changed) |
| `/asmute words` | Lists your current trigger words |
| `/asmute addword <word>` | Adds a trigger word |
| `/asmute delword <word>` | Removes a trigger word |
**Examples:**
- `/asmute unmute Thrall`
- `/asmute addword mcconnell`
## Default Settings
- Filtering: **On**
- Add to Ignore list: **On**
- Mute notifications: **On**
- Trigger words: **asmon** (this also catches "asmongold")
## Installation
1. Download and unzip the file.
2. Put the `AsmonMute` folder in your `World of Warcraft_classic_beta_InterfaceAddOns` folder. If WoW Forever has launched since, the folder name may be different.
3. Restart the game completely. `/reload` won't pick up a newly added addon.
## Notes
- During some restricted situations, like boss encounters, the game doesn't let addons read chat text. AsmonMute skips those messages safely instead of throwing errors. Players you muted earlier stay hidden.
- Trigger words match anywhere inside a message, so a longer word that happens to contain one could also cause a mute.
- The in-game Ignore list has a size limit. If yours fills up, turn off `/asmute ignore` and the addon will still hide everyone on its own mute list.
