AHledger puts auction house prices in your tooltips, tells you how fast each item sells, marks what pays, and lets your scans feed a shared price database for World of Warcraft: Forever. Free. No automation. Nothing paywalled. Works on Forever (1.60.1) and Classic Era (1.15.9).

Prices come from players scanning the auction house. The addon scans when you open it, the free AHledger sync app uploads the scan, and fresh price tables come back into the addon every 30 minutes. Every price the site shows was scanned by someone running this addon. Only official game data is used; nothing is copied from third-party databases.

The download ships with a snapshot of every Forever market's prices, so tooltips work from your first login. AHledger sync replaces the snapshot with live prices.

New in 0.9.0: how fast it sells

A low price is only half the answer; the other half is whether anyone buys. AHledger now estimates how many of each item sell a day on your auction house, from consecutive scans by players, and puts it in plain words:

  • Sells fast: the current listings would clear in under a day.
  • Sells steadily: within 3 days.
  • Sells slowly: within 2 weeks.
  • Barely sells: longer than that, or none sold this week.

You see it in tooltips ("Sells steadily on the AH: ~200 sold a day, listings clear in ~2 days"), in the posting panel ("At that pace your 120 would sell in about 14 hours"), in the Deals, Crafting and Bags tabs, and on the ledger bar. Type /ahl pace for a short explanation in game. It is an estimate and leans low: a cancelled listing can look like a sale, so anything that looks like a relisting is left out.

What you see without opening anything

  • The ledger bar. A small movable strip with your bag value at the market median and how much of it sells fast ("Bag value 45g · 31g sells fast"), gold this session with the hourly rate, watchlist alerts, deals in your latest scan and how many of them sell ("Deals 9 (6 sell)"), and a ticker that walks your watchlist one item at a time with each item's sales speed. Each number opens its tab; hover the bag value for the split by sales speed. Drag it anywhere; /ahl bar lock keeps it there and /ahl bar hides it.
  • Tooltip prices. Every item tooltip gains a block: median, lowest buyout, 7-day change, units listed, how fast it sells on the auction house, vendor price, disenchant value, and how many you own and what they are worth. Works in bags, the bank, chat links, quest rewards, the auction house and crafting windows. A compact option shows one line and a verdict: Auction it · sells fast or Vendor it.
  • Best quest reward. When a quest offers a choice, each option shows what it is worth (median or vendor, whichever is more) and the best is marked.
  • Vendor flips. At a merchant, an item that sells for well over its vendor price shows the profit per purchase and the stock left when limited.
  • Mailbox summary. One chat line on opening the mailbox: how many auctions sold and for how much, expired, outbid, won or cancelled. Nothing is opened or taken.
  • Scan summary. When a scan saves, chat says how many deals it found and names the best three.

At the auction house

  • Price column. Every browse result shows the median and how far the listing sits under or over it, green or red.
  • Posting helper. Put an item in the sell frame and a panel shows its median, lowest, 7-day change, 30-day range, units listed, how fast it sells and how long what you carry would take to sell at that pace, with buttons that fill the price field: undercut, match the median, or add 10%. Posting stays your click.
  • Scan button. One full scan of the house, stored on your machine. The button shows what the scan is doing and counts down the server's 15-minute allowance. Automatic scans run when you open the house, at most every 15 minutes.

The window (/ahl)

  • Watchlist and alerts. Tracked items with median, 7-day change, 30-day range and units listed. Four alert kinds per item: below a price, above a price, a percent under the 30-day median, or fewer than N listed. Alerts print in chat with a sound whenever a new price table loads.
  • Deal finder. Your latest scan against the price table: every item listed a chosen percent under its 30-day median, biggest savings first, with a Sold/day column. Tick Sells on the AH to keep only deals on items that sell at least one a day, so you do not buy stock that will sit. Click a row to search for it.
  • Crafting margins. In a profession window the selected recipe shows reagent cost, result value, margin and how fast the result sells at current prices. The Crafting tab lists every learned recipe ranked by margin, with Sold/day and Profit/day (the margin times what the auction house buys a day) and a shopping list of what you are missing for N crafts.
  • Bag appraisal. Everything in your bags with count, median, total, vendor total, how fast it sells on the auction house, and whether to auction it or vendor it.
  • Options. Every feature has its own switch, including the sales speed in tooltips and on the bar. Hover any column heading for what it means. The minimap button opens the window; its tooltip carries the same numbers as the bar.

On ahledger.com

Every item has a page with its latest price on each market, 7 and 30 day price history, how fast it sells, where it comes from and what it crafts into. The site also has a live deal scanner, crafting profit by recipe, market pages with the fastest and slowest sellers, a weekly gold meta, and an optional deals email. All of it is built from the scans players contribute.

Contributing, and what leaves your machine

Addons cannot access the network. A scan is a list of item ids, quantities, buyout and bid prices and time left for one market, plus your realm, faction and region. No character names, seller names, account details or chat. AHledger sync uploads scans only while Contribute scans is on in the options (it is on by default and one click to turn off).

With item sources on, the addon also notes what a loot window, a vendor, a quest window or a fishing cast gave, and the zone, so item pages on ahledger.com can say where things come from and quest pages can show level, giver, rewards and objectives. Loot inside a dungeon with it on and the drops land on that dungeon's page. Source ids, names, zones, items and vendor prices only; never quest text, never anything about your character. If item sources ever catch an error, it never interrupts you; /ahl status shows the line to send in.

Your scans count: the site's contributor leaderboard ranks players by the market hours their scans cover, opt-in by name from your account page, and the addon shows what your scans added each week.

Setup

  1. Install the addon from CurseForge. Log in and open the auction house; it scans on its own. Prices from the bundled snapshot show right away.
  2. Create a free account at ahledger.com/account and an upload key.
  3. Install AHledger sync (Windows), paste the key, and point it at the addon's saved-variables file. It uploads each scan and keeps the price tables in the addon current, sales speed included. Without sync, every market page on the site has an import string you can paste in game with /ahl import.
  4. The game writes saved data at logout or /reload, so a scan is sent after one of those. The addon reminds you.

Slash commands

  • /ahl the window: watchlist, deals, crafting, bags, options; /ahl deals, bags, craft, options open a tab directly
  • /ahl pace what the sales speeds mean and how they are estimated
  • /ahl bar show or hide the ledger bar; /ahl bar lock, unlock, reset
  • /ahl scan full scan (auction house open)
  • /ahl status version, market, table age, stored scans, what your scans added
  • /ahl watch add [item], remove [item], alert [item] 12g 50s
  • /ahl import paste a price table from the site
  • /ahl set <option> on|off, /ahl market <key|detect>, /ahl auto on|off, /ahl clear (delete stored scans)

Beta client note

The Forever beta client writes saved variables but does not read them back, so the addon mirrors your options, market override and watchlist into addon-registered CVars and restores them at login. Scans and price tables are not affected. /ahl status says which happened.
