Forever Quest Dialogue

Forever Quest Dialogue brings a clean, readable quest and NPC conversation window to WoW Forever. A dark theme, warm gold accents, and adjustable text help you follow the story at your own pace.

Features

• Read NPC dialogue, quest descriptions, objectives, and progress in a scrollable panel.
• Accept quests, select item rewards, and complete turn-ins.
• Adjust text size and interface scale.
• Drag the dialogue window to a comfortable position.
• Enable or disable optional narration with a single button.
• Replay or stop the current narration.
• Return to Blizzard’s interface when needed, or hold Shift while opening a conversation to bypass the custom window.

Optional voice narration

Narration is off by default. Click Voice: Off in the dialogue panel or type /fqd voice on to enable it.

Without recordings installed, the addon uses WoW’s built-in text-to-speech voices. You can select a voice and adjust speech speed and volume.

For recorded NPC voices, install Spoken Quests, Spoken Player, and your chosen Spoken Quests audio packs separately. Forever Quest Dialogue uses their recording lookup and controls playback through its own Voice, Replay, and Stop buttons. Missing recordings fall back to text-to-speech when enabled.

No recordings are included in this download. Credit for Spoken Quests and its audio belongs to rustykey and its contributors.

While Forever Quest Dialogue is enabled, Spoken Quests’ automatic narration is suppressed to prevent overlapping voices. Its saved preferences are not changed. /fqd off restores Spoken Quests’ normal automatic playback; /fqd voice off keeps automatic narration silent.

Getting started

1. Install and enable Forever Quest Dialogue.
2. Type /fqd to preview the interface.
3. Speak to a quest NPC to begin.
4. Enable narration if desired.

Disable other quest dialogue replacements while testing.

Useful commands

• /fqd voice on or /fqd voice off — Toggle narration.
• /fqd voice replay or /fqd voice stop — Control playback.
• /fqd voice packs — Check Spoken Quests integration and loaded packs.
• /fqd voice list — List available text-to-speech voices.
• /fqd font 18 — Change text size.
• /fqd scale 1 — Change interface scale.
• /fqd reset — Restore defaults.
• /fqd status — Show addon and client version information.

Early release information

Version 0.3.0 targets WoW Forever 1.60.1. Automated checks have passed, but in-game interface and audio testing are still pending.

Currency reward choices and unsupported interactions return to Blizzard’s interface. Some new Forever quests may not have recordings. Saved settings depend on the beta client’s SavedVariables behavior, and dragged window positions currently last only for the session.
