Never cast an old rank again
You train a new rank, but your action bars still hold the old one. Nothing in the game tells you, so you keep casting the weaker version for days.
Rankle handles the whole cycle for you. It shows what's waiting at your trainer, buys all of it in one click, puts the new ranks straight onto your bars, and warns you if an old rank ever slips through.
Train all
Open your class trainer and a small Rankle panel appears beside it, showing how many ranks you can learn and what they cost.
- One click trains everything. Ranks are bought one at a time and each purchase is confirmed. If buying Rank 2 unlocks Rank 3, Rank 3 is picked up in the same run.
- Nothing unexpected. Spells you've hidden and anything you can't afford are skipped. Afterwards chat tells you what you trained, what it cost, and what you were short for.
Your bars update themselves
Buy a new rank and Rankle swaps the old rank for it on your action bars and in your macros, then tells you in chat:
Rankle: replaced Frostbolt Rank 3 with Rank 4 (2 bar slots, 1 macro)
- Deliberate downranks are safe. Put a rank on the ignore list, such as a cheap low-rank heal, and it's never touched.
- It never gets in your way. It waits until you're out of combat and have nothing on your cursor.
- Old ranks already on your bars?
/rankle fixupdates everything at once, including macros like/cast Frostbolt(Rank 3). - Prefer to do it yourself? Untick Auto-replace spells when I learn a rank in the menu. You can also mute the chat message on its own.
Training planner
Type /rankle plan to see every spell and rank your class can learn, grouped by the level it unlocks at. It covers all nine classes.
- Ready to train sits at the top: everything your level allows that you haven't learned yet.
- At a glance: how many ranks are ready now, what your next level brings, and how many are left before 60.
- Gold for training: what everything ready now costs, what your next level will cost, and a warning when you're short. Prices come from your trainer, so they appear once you've opened it.
- Quest spells are marked, so you don't make a wasted trip to the trainer for a spell that comes from a class quest.
- Filter by school, and show ranks you already have or talent ranks you don't have yet.
- Hover any spell for its level, school, cost and status. For spells the game can describe, you also get the game's own tooltip.
- Right-click a spell you never want recommended to hide it.
- Level-up notices: when you level up, chat lists what's new at your trainer and what it costs.
The planner comes with the Forever client's own spell data. Every time you open your class trainer, Rankle checks that data against the trainer's real list, so it stays correct as the beta changes.
Downrank warnings
If a lower rank does get cast, Rankle tells you straight away:
Rankle: downranked Frostbolt -- cast Rank 3, Rank 4 available
- Checks your bars too. At login it looks for old ranks on your action bars and in your macros.
- Ignore any spell or rank you downrank on purpose.
- Recent downranks are listed in the menu, each with a one-click Ignore button.
- Won't spam you: each spell warns once, then waits before warning again. You set how long.
- Optional warning sound.
The menu
Find it under Options → AddOns → Rankle, type /rankle to open it as a floating window, or click Rankle in the addons button by the minimap. From the menu you can:
- Turn each feature on or off: warnings, the sound, auto-replace and its chat message, the Train all panel, the login bar check, level-up notices and the login message
- Set how long before the same spell can warn again
- Manage your ignore list. Type a few letters of a spell and press Tab to complete it from your spellbook. Enter a rank to ignore only that rank, or leave it blank to ignore every rank
- See recent downranks and ignore one with a click
- Open the training planner, scan or fix your action bars, test the warning sound, or save your settings

Keeping your settings on the beta
The current beta client saves settings when you log out but doesn't load them back when you log in. To keep yours, set things up in the menu and click Save settings…. Copy the text, paste it over everything in Settings.lua in the Rankle folder, then restart the client. This keeps your ignore list and hidden spells too, and stops the first-run notice from reappearing.
If a later build loads saved settings properly, those take priority and Settings.lua becomes a fallback.
Found a bug?
Please report it in the comments or issues. If it's to do with the trainer, open your class trainer, type /rankle trainerdebug, and paste what it shows. That tells me exactly what the trainer is reporting.
