PartyCaller

PartyCaller is a one-click group recruitment assistant designed for World of Warcraft: Forever.

Instead of manually typing the same recruitment message repeatedly, select an activity, your role, the roles you need, and the destination channels. PartyCaller automatically generates an up-to-date LFM or LFG message.

The interface is built with Blizzard-style frames, role icons, buttons, checkboxes, dungeon panels, and quest-log elements. No external libraries or texture packs are required.

Features

LFM and LFG modes

Choose between:

  • LFM — recruit players for your group
  • LFG — advertise yourself as looking for a group

Blizzard-style role selection

Select your role using familiar role icons:

  • Tank
  • Healer
  • DPS

The party composition and required roles are updated from the current group roster.

Dungeon browser

PartyCaller reads available dungeon activities from the game's Group Finder API.

  • Activities are filtered by the character's level
  • Recommended level ranges are displayed
  • An optional setting includes out-of-level dungeons
  • A built-in activity database is used only when the Group Finder API is unavailable

Multi-quest selection

The Quest Log tab supports selecting several quests at once.

Example:

LFG 2 quests: WANTED: Chok'sul + Mercenaries

Quest categories include:

  • Elite and Group quests
  • Dungeon quests
  • Normal quests

Elite and group quests are displayed first. The Nearby group quests button can automatically select suitable group quests from the current zone.

Automatic message generation

Example recruitment messages:

LFM Deadmines - need Tank + Healer - 3/5

LFG Wailing Caverns - Healer

LFG Loch Modan quest run - 3 quests

PartyCaller updates the preview when the activity, role, group composition, or options change.

Chat destinations

Messages can be sent to:

  • LookingForGroup
  • General
  • Guild
  • Trade

PartyCaller resolves the channels the character has actually joined, including common Russian channel names.

Public announcements require a player click because WoW restricts fully automated public chat messages.

Announcement cooldown

The interface shows whether the next announcement is ready.

Hold Shift while clicking Announce to override the recommended cooldown when necessary.

Whisper applicants

PartyCaller recognizes common application messages, including:

  • inv
  • heal inv
  • tank here
  • 42 priest
  • +
  • ++
  • ++++
  • Russian invite and role phrases

Matching whispers appear in a separate Applicants window with:

  • Player name
  • Class
  • Level
  • Detected or suggested role
  • Original message
  • Invite button
  • Dismiss button

PartyCaller never automatically invites players.

Class-role detection is deliberately conservative. Pure damage classes such as Warlock, Mage, Hunter, and Rogue are classified as DPS. Hybrid classes remain ambiguous unless the player specifies a role.

Minimap button

  • Left-click: open or close PartyCaller
  • Right-click: open settings
  • Drag: move the button around the minimap

The minimap position is saved between sessions.

Slash commands

  • /pcaller — open or close PartyCaller
  • /pcaller announce — announce using the current configuration
  • /pcaller settings — open settings

Legacy /fga commands are also supported.

Installation

  1. Close World of Warcraft.

  2. Extract the archive.

  3. Copy the PartyCaller folder to:

    World of Warcraft/_forever_/Interface/AddOns/

  4. Make sure the resulting path is:

    Interface/AddOns/PartyCaller/PartyCaller.toc

  5. Start the game and enable PartyCaller in the AddOns menu.

  6. Enter /pcaller to open the addon.

If upgrading from ForeverGroupAnnouncer, remove the old ForeverGroupAnnouncer addon folder first. Existing compatible SavedVariables are preserved where possible.

Known limitations

  • PartyCaller targets WoW Forever's modern addon API and Interface 16001.
  • Public chat is protected by the game and therefore requires a physical player click.
  • The game may throttle or reject multiple public-channel messages sent simultaneously.
  • Only channels the character has joined can receive messages.
  • Available dungeon activities depend on data exposed by the current Forever client.
  • Whisper parsing provides suggestions and may not always identify hybrid-class roles without an explicit role in the message.

Feedback and bug reports

When reporting a problem, please include:

  • PartyCaller version
  • WoW Forever client version
  • Character level
  • Selected activity
  • The exact error message or screenshot
  • Steps required to reproduce the problem
