Form names in your macros
Macro conditions like [form:3] only take numbers, and the number is the form's place on your stance bar. That place changes as you learn forms: Cat Form moves when you pick up Aquatic Form, and every macro that used the old number quietly breaks.
Opcow's Form Macros lets you write the name instead:
#showtooltip
/cast [noform:cat] Cat Form
/cast [form:cat, stealth] Ravage; [form:cat] Prowl
When you close the macro window, the names are changed to the numbers your forms have right now, so the macro works exactly like one you numbered by hand. The addon remembers which macros it changed, and when your forms move it changes their numbers to the new ones.
Features
- Works in
form, noform, stanceandnostanceconditions, and mixed with numbers:[form:bear/cat]. - The macro window shows your names again when you open a macro, so you can edit it the way you wrote it.
- A form you haven't learned yet is never true until you learn it, then its real number is filled in.
- Shared (general) macros are kept right for whichever character is logged in.
- Nothing to set up and no options window.
Names
bear (also Dire Bear), aquatic, cat, travel, moonkin, tree, flight, battle, defensive, berserker, stealth, shadowform, and caster for no form. Any other form on your stance bar works by its name without "Form", "Stance" or "Aura" and without spaces.
Type /ofm to list your forms and their numbers.
Good to know
- Macros can't be changed in combat or while the macro window is open, so updates wait until after.
- Macros are remembered by name: renaming one forgets it until you use a form name in it again.
- If names would make a macro too long for the macro window, it shows the numbers instead.
