Nameplate Objectives
Quest objective counters on enemy nameplates, for World of Warcraft Retail and WoW Forever.
Status: alpha. Tested in game in the open world on WoW Forever and on Retail (a world quest). Not confirmed yet: the third-party nameplate addons, quests in instances, and a group member's quests.
An icon and a counter (3/8, or what is left) on every enemy that advances one of your quest
objectives: kill, loot and progress objectives each have their own icon and colour. Works on
Blizzard's nameplates, and anchors to Plater, Platynator, ElvUI, Kui and Threat Plates when they
replace them.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/npo config | Open the options (also in Options > AddOns) |
/npo test | Sample objectives on every enemy nameplate, to set the position |
/npo toggle | Enable or disable the indicators |
Troubleshooting
An enemy shows no counter, or the wrong one? Target it, type /npo dump, and open an issue on
GitHub with what it printed: its tooltip
lines, your matching quests and objectives, and its nameplate frames.
The dump is also saved in WTFAccount<account>SavedVariablesNameplateObjectives.lua after a
/reload or logout, which is easier to attach than a chat screenshot. Secret values are never
stored, only a <secret type> marker in their place. /npo help lists the other diagnostic
commands.
