Leyword

Leyword is the daily word puzzle for WoW Forever. The word changes once per realm day. You get six tries. Green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word somewhere else, and gray is not in the word.

Your guild

Finish the puzzle and anyone in the guild with Leyword sees your score and the pattern of tiles. Open the Guild tab for everyone else's result from today. The letters you guessed stay on your screen. They are not sent.

Tell people

After a win, Share posts to Say, Party, Yell, Raid, Guild, or a whisper at your target. They get the puzzle number, your score, and the colored grid. The last line tells anyone without Leyword to install it. The answer is not in the message.

How it plays

• Open it with /leyword, /lw, or the minimap addon compartment.
• Turn on hard mode before the first guess. It stays on for that puzzle.
• Colorblind mode changes the tile colors.
• Normal five-letter English words count as guesses. The daily answer stays a common word.
• Add words in CustomWords.lua, then /reload. Extra guesses are safe to add. A custom answer list replaces the shared word, so the whole guild needs the same file.

How it looks

The window is a normal Blizzard frame. ElvUI, Tukui, and EllesmereUI can reskin it. The tiles and the keyboard keep their puzzle colors. /leyword noskin leaves the Blizzard frame as it is.

Install

1. Close the game.
2. Unzip so the folder is InterfaceAddOnsLeyword. On the Forever beta client that is World of Warcraft_classic_beta_InterfaceAddOnsLeyword. The folder name has to match the toc name.
3. Log in and enable Leyword if it is unchecked.
