HammerLink

Bring your character data out of WoW—or paste a readable report straight into an AI assistant.

HammerLink is an optional local World of Warcraft addon that exports selected character data. It creates either a compact HL1: snapshot for compatible importers or a structured Markdown report for ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI.

Use the HammerLink minimap button or /hl export to open the export chooser. Choose a format, select the data to include, then copy the result.

Two export formats

HL1 snapshot creates a compact, versioned character-data snapshot for compatible tools.

AI-readable report creates structured Markdown with names, IDs, and clearly labelled data states. Paste it into an AI assistant when asking about gear, bags, spells, currencies, quests, profession observations, Great Vault progress, or Housing decor.

The chooser shows live record counts, remembers the selected format, and provides a non-blocking estimate for large AI-readable reports.

What it captures

• Character name, realm, class, specialisation, and item level at capture time.
• Current spellbook entries exposed by the client, including spell IDs, skill lines, passive/off-spec flags, and flyout source where available.
• Exact Great Vault activities, thresholds, progress, tiers, and generated rewards.
• Equipped item links and every occupied backpack, equipped-bag, and reagent-bag slot.
• The active talent import string.
• Capped currencies, with current wallet amount plus available weekly and seasonal cap progress.
• The current quest log, including factual objective progress, classification, timers, and map waypoints.
• Owned Housing Catalog decor, including stored, placed, and redeemable counts.
• Learned profession recipes, gathering techniques, and bonuses positively observed after opening the matching profession window.

All categories start enabled and can be changed per export. The compact snapshot records what was selected. AI-readable reports keep omitted, unavailable, unknown, empty, and truncated states distinct—an unopened profession or absent client entry is not evidence that the character has none.

Local by design

HammerLink makes no network requests. Everything is generated locally in-game; the addon does not upload your data.

HL1: snapshots are UTF-8 JSON compressed with embedded LibDeflate and encoded with LibDeflate’s printable copy/paste alphabet. They are not Base64 and are not encrypted.

To decompress an HL1: snapshot programmatically:

1. Remove the HL1: prefix.
2. Decode the remainder with LibDeflate DecodeForPrint.
3. Inflate it with LibDeflate DecompressDeflate.
4. Parse the resulting UTF-8 JSON.

AI-readable reports are plain Markdown. Review either format before sharing it as character data.
