GoldTrace keeps track of where your gold comes from, helping you understand its history and giving you peace of mind when trading with other players.

How it works

GoldTrace records the gold you earn and the gold you receive from other players who also use GoldTrace. When gold is passed between players, its history can be carried along with it, creating a chain of transactions.

For example:

Auction House
      ↓
   Player A
      ↓
   Player B
      ↓
     You

If everyone in the chain is using GoldTrace, you can see the tracked history of that gold and where it was observed along the way.

Trade with confidence

When you receive gold from another GoldTrace user, the addon can show you how much of that gold has a known, tracked history.

Gold with a complete tracked history can be followed through participating players, while gold that entered the network from an untracked source will be clearly identified as such.

GoldTrace doesn't label players or gold as "clean" or "dirty". It simply shows you what can be verified.

Built around the community

GoldTrace becomes more useful as more players use it.

The more people who track their gold, the more complete the network of transaction history becomes. Every player helps contribute to a shared ecosystem where gold can be traced between participating players.

Important

GoldTrace can only track transactions that it has observed. It cannot recover the history of gold from before tracking began, and it cannot determine with certainty whether gold was purchased outside the tracked network.
