Forever Pet XP

Keep your Hunter pet's experience visible while you play. Forever Pet XP adds a small, movable bar that reads the same experience values as the character sheet's pet tab, even when the character sheet is closed.

Features

• Displays pet name, level, current XP, required XP, and percentage.
• Left-drag to position the bar, then lock it in place.
• Saves position, scale, width, and visibility separately for each character.
• Right-click opens Character > Pet outside combat.
• Hover to see XP remaining until the next pet level.
• Automatically hides when locked if no pet is summoned.
• No addon dependencies.

Getting started

Install the addon, restart the game, and enable Forever Pet XP. Log in to your Hunter and summon your pet. The bar starts unlocked near the lower middle of the screen. Drag it where you want it, then enter /petxp lock.

For a manual installation, extract the download and place the ForeverPetXP folder inside your Forever client's Interface/AddOns folder. The current beta normally uses World of Warcraft/classic_beta/Interface/AddOns.

Commands

• /petxp unlock — show and unlock the bar for moving.
• /petxp lock — lock the current position.
• /petxp show or /petxp hide — control visibility.
• /petxp scale 1.2 — change the scale; allowed range 0.6–2.
• /petxp width 360 — change the width; allowed range 240–700.
• /petxp reset — restore the default settings and position.
• /petxp pet — open the pet character sheet outside combat.
• /petxp test — toggle a clearly labeled sample preview.
• /petxp — show help.

/fpetxp is an alternative command if another addon already uses /petxp.

Compatibility

Built for World of Warcraft: Forever 1.60.1.70009, interface 16001, and confirmed working in-game by the user. The project also includes 21 automated Lua 5.1 behavior checks. Future beta patches may require updates.

This tracks Hunter combat-pet experience. It does not track collectible battle pets. If the game does not expose readable pet XP, the bar reports that it is unavailable. A pet at your level may stop gaining experience until you level.
