Campfire Tales is a lightweight World of Warcraft addon that brings a little storytelling back to those quiet moments around the fire.

Sit beside a campfire and Campfire Tales will choose a story for you to share, one piece at a time, with nearby players. Or, with Tell a Tale, start a story whenever the moment feels right. No campfire required.

Whether you're waiting for your group, relaxing between adventures, hanging around town, or simply enjoying a quiet evening in Azeroth, Campfire Tales gives you something to share.

🔥 75 Tales Across Five Story Packs

Campfire Tales includes 75 original tales, divided into five selectable Story Packs:

Ghost Stories
Hauntings, strange visitors, things in the darkness, and stories best told with a fire nearby.

Tavern Tales
Bards, bar fights, questionable decisions, and the sort of stories that improve considerably after another round.

Legends
Heroes, sacrifices, battles, and stories that might just deserve to be remembered.

Traveler's Tales
Strange roads, distant places, unusual encounters, and the things adventurers discover along the way.

Strange Tales
Stories that don't quite belong anywhere else. Odd magic, impossible places, and mysteries probably better left unexplained.

Choose whichever packs you enjoy, combine several, or leave all five enabled for the full collection.

📖 Tell Stories Your Way

Campfire Tales can begin naturally when you settle beside a compatible campfire.

When a tale is ready, use the Tale button to share it one part at a time:

Begin Tale → Continue Tale → Finish Tale

Want to tell a story without waiting for a campfire?

Use Tell a Tale from the Campfire Tales window or right-click the minimap button to start one anywhere.

Perfect for quiet moments while waiting for a dungeon, raid, event, or that one party member who said "brb 2 minutes" twelve minutes ago.

Type:

/ct

to open the Campfire Tales window.

From there you can:

• Choose which Story Packs are enabled
• See how many stories are currently available
• Tell a Tale manually
• Show or hide the minimap button
• Reset the Tale button position

The minimap button can be dragged around the minimap:

Left-click: Open Campfire Tales
Right-click: Tell a Tale
Drag: Reposition the button

The Tale button can also be repositioned by right-clicking and dragging it.

Your preferences and button positions are saved between sessions.

🔁 Fewer Repeats

Campfire Tales remembers your recently selected stories and avoids choosing from the last several tales whenever possible.

With 75 stories and customizable Story Packs, you should spend more time discovering tales and less time wondering whether that ghost story sounds suspiciously familiar.

💬 Made for Sharing

Campfire Tales isn't intended to replace quests, roleplaying addons, or Warcraft's lore.

It's something smaller.

It's an excuse to stop for a moment, sit around a fire, and share a story with the people you're adventuring beside.

You don't need to be a roleplayer. You don't need to know any lore. You don't even need a campfire anymore.

You just need a few quiet moments and someone willing to listen.
