Campfire Tales Forever

Pull up a log. Every adventurer has a story.

Sit down by a campfire and your character starts to talk: a ghost story, a rumor from the last town, a memory from the road, a joke at a goblin's expense. Campfire Tales Forever brings the quiet moments of World of Warcraft: Forever to life with nearly 300 hand-written roleplay emotes that everyone nearby can see.

🔥 How it works

Sit, kneel or lie down near a campfire (with the Welcoming Campfire buff). After a moment, your character shares a tale as a normal /emote. Stay seated and another follows every few minutes.

Skall pokes the fire with a stick and watches the sparks climb, as if each one were carrying a secret up to the stars.

Skall tells of a village where every door was found open one morning, every table set, and not a soul left inside.

Skall passes Brannoc the waterskin and says, "Your turn. Tell me something true."

📖 Nearly 300 hand-written tales

• Fireside stories, eerie folklore, ghost stories, road wisdom, prayers, dreams and plenty of dry adventuring humour.
• Tales name your zone, your hearthstone town, the fish you caught and the dish you cooked.
• Works for everyone: no tale assumes your race, gender or faction.
• No repeats until every tale in a scene has been told.

By the fire

• 🪵 Sitting: stories, rumors and memories.
• 🙏 Kneeling: tending the fire, prayers, sharpening steel.

• 🍖 Eating & drinking by the fire.
• 🍳 Cooking: names the dish you just made.

On the road

• 🍺 Inns & cities: tavern talk, gossip and bedding down for the night.
• 🥪 Meals on the road.
• 🎣 Fishing: casting a line, and naming your catch.
• 🦅 Flight paths: the view from up high.
• 🏠 Hearthstone: thinking of home (by name).

Moments

• ⭐ Level up: says your new level.
• 💀 Back from the dead: dusting yourself off.
• 🍻 Getting tipsy.
• 🗺️ Arriving somewhere new (optional).
• 💭 Lost in thought when you stand still a while (optional).

🌙 Night tales & companions

• After dark (server time), eerier tales creep in: owls in the dark, shadows at the edge of the firelight.
• Target a friendly player beside you and some tales are told to them, by name.

✍️ Write your own

• Add as many of your own lines as you like to any scene, right in the options window.
• Use {zone}, {home}, {target}, {item} and {level} to make them personal.

🤫 Never spammy

• A cooldown between tales (90 seconds by default) and a limit per 10 minutes.
• Never in combat. Quiet in dungeons, raids and battlegrounds (adjustable).
• Private mode shows tales only to you, perfect for trying it out.

🪟 A proper options window

• Every scene listed with a switch. Click one to see what triggers it, set its chance, read sample tales, preview one privately or tell one now.
• General settings for timing, quiet rules and which buffs count as a campfire, plus a list of your recent tales.
• Minimap button, AddOns compartment button and a key binding to tell a tale on demand.

⌨️ Commands

Scenes for test / say: sit, kneel, sleep, dance, eat, cook, inn, meal, fish, fly, hearth, level, rez, drunk, explore, idle.

📌 Good to know

• Use /sit, /kneel, /sleep or the sit key. Sitting in a chair by clicking it can't be detected.
• Tales are normal /emotes, so they show in the emote colour for everyone nearby.

📦 Install

1. Download and unzip.
2. Put the CampfireTalesForever folder in World of Warcraft_classic_beta_InterfaceAddOns (or the same folder in your WoW: Forever install), replacing any old copy.
3. The folder must be named exactly CampfireTalesForever.
