Cachebound

Cachebound turns World of Warcraft exploration into a community-driven geocaching and sticker-collecting game.

Hide virtual caches out in the world, discover caches left by other players, build your sticker albums, trade duplicates, and keep your daily exploration streak alive.

Beta: Cachebound is currently in active development. Features, balance and network behavior may change as the community system is tested and expanded.

🧭 Community Geocaching

Cachebound lets players create and discover virtual caches at locations throughout the world.

When you place a cache, its location is shared through the Cachebound network. Other Cachebound players can discover it, travel to the area and claim it when they get close enough.

The addon does not place physical game objects into the World of Warcraft world. Cache locations, ownership and rewards are managed entirely by Cachebound.

Every cache contains a reward

Every newly placed cache contains:

• 1 guaranteed random sticker
• +1 bonus sticker if the player who placed the cache had a duplicate available

The bonus sticker is taken from the creator's duplicate collection.

This means every successful cache discovery rewards at least one sticker, while active collectors can leave extra surprises for other explorers.

📡 Proximity Sonar

You do not need exact coordinates to hunt a nearby cache.

Cachebound includes a dedicated Proximity Sonar that visually reacts as you move:

• signal strength increases as you approach the target
• animated rings react to proximity
• trend indicators show whether you are getting Closer, Holding, or moving Farther away
• the exact distance and direction are deliberately hidden

Once you enter claiming range, the cache can be claimed directly from the sonar interface.

Finding the location is part of the game.

🎴 Collectible Sticker Albums

Discover and collect illustrated stickers tied to World of Warcraft locations, creatures, landmarks and local stories.

Current album content includes dedicated pages for areas such as:

• Durotar
• Elwynn Forest

Sticker rarities range from:

Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary

Your collection tracks discovered stickers and duplicate copies separately.

Duplicates are useful — they can be placed inside caches for other players or exchanged through the Trading Post.

🎁 Daily Rewards & Exploration Streak

Log in each day to continue your Cachebound streak.

Your daily supply of placeable caches grows with your streak:

You can carry up to 10 unplaced cache containers.

Maintaining your streak also grants one random sticker per day.

Miss a day and your cache streak returns to Day 1. The sticker streak bonus resumes after you continue the new streak.

Daily rewards are claimed through a dedicated Cachebound reward screen rather than being silently added to your inventory.

🔄 Trading Post

Duplicate stickers do not have to sit unused in your collection.

The built-in Trading Post lets Cachebound players offer duplicate stickers and request stickers they still want.

The interface includes:

• visual sticker selection
• Offer / Want listings
• duplicate-only offers
• listing search and filtering
• active and reserved listing states
• pending trade tracking
• escrow-style sticker handling

There is no gold economy and no virtual currency system in Cachebound.

The economy is the sticker collection itself.

📜 Rumor Board

Rare discoveries should feel like rumors spreading between explorers.

The Rumor Board surfaces noteworthy cache activity without simply giving away an exact location.

Instead of turning exploration into waypoint following, Cachebound provides approximate information and lets players do the final search themselves.

🔐 Sealed Cache Rewards

Cache rewards use a commitment system designed to prevent the reward from being changed after a cache has been placed.

The guaranteed random sticker and any optional player-deposited duplicate are selected when the cache is created and sealed into the cache commitment.

The reward is revealed and verified when the cache is successfully claimed.

🌍 A Separate Game Inside WoW

Cachebound is intentionally designed as a companion game rather than a replacement for normal World of Warcraft content.

You can:

Explore → Hide caches → Hunt caches → Collect stickers → Trade duplicates → Complete albums

There are no character power rewards, combat advantages, gold rewards or pay-to-win mechanics.

Cachebound is about exploration, collecting and interaction between players.

🚧 Beta Status

Cachebound is currently a beta project.

The core geocaching, collection, daily reward, sonar, album and trading systems are functional, but the addon is still being actively tested.

During the beta you may encounter:

• balance changes
• UI changes
• networking adjustments
• new sticker albums and artwork
• changes to cache discovery and reward mechanics

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

Cachebound must be installed by participating players for its community features to work between them.
