Blackthornes Farmer
Farmer is for anyone who's ever asked where to go for a stack of Mageweave, some Iron Ore or a few Heavy Leathers. You type the item and it lists every mob, node and vendor that gives it, with the zone and the level range. When you get there, it keeps track of what you kill and what drops, so after a while the drop rates it shows are your own.
Built for WoW: Forever.
Finding where to farm
Search by item, zone, mob or type of material. /farm linen cloth lists every place Linen Cloth comes from, lowest level first. /farm westfall lists what's worth farming in Westfall.
The database covers 205 vanilla materials (cloth, leather, ore, herbs, meat, elemental drops and more) across 651 places to get them. Levels are coloured the way the game colours a target, so you can tell at a glance what you can handle. Click a row to print it to chat with its coordinates. Spots that have been checked on Forever get a green Forever tag.
Kills and loot
A panel down the left side of the screen counts every kill and every drop. Once you've killed the same mob 20 times, it shows drop rates from your own kills and plays a fanfare. It never makes up a rate.
The panel reacts as you play. What you've looted floats off the edge, the mob you just killed lights up and its bar moves toward 20, and the session's value counts up. Kills less than a minute apart build a streak. A green or better drop gets its own colour and sound, and your 20th kill drops a gold banner across the panel. /farm effects turns this down to subtle or off.
Click any mob in the panel for its full loot table. Each kill also notes the subzone, so you can see where you've killed a mob most. Skinning counts properly: a skinned corpse is one kill, and the leather counts as that mob's drop.
What a kill is worth
With Blackthornes Tradeskills loaded, drops are priced from your own auction house scans. Without it, Farmer uses vendor prices. Grey items always go by vendor price.
The Rankings tab lists every mob by what one kill is worth. Mobs you've killed 20 or more times are ranked from your own loot, coin included. The rest are estimates from the database, marked with a ~. Hover a mob to see where its value comes from.
The top of the panel shows what everything you've picked up this session is worth.
Fishing and gathering
Every catch is recorded against the zone, subzone and school you cast into, with catch rates after 20 casts. Mouse over a school before you fish it and its catches count toward that school.
Herbs and ore are recorded against the node and where you found it, with yields after 20 gathers. Nodes you've gathered are marked on the world map and minimap. The marker is a faded icon with a check, so it never looks like a node that's up. On the minimap it's an empty gold frame, and a node that's grown back shows through the middle. Each map has its own switch.
