Archivist for Forever – Library Books

Archivist is a lightweight library book tracker built exclusively for World of Warcraft: Forever.

It integrates directly into the Professions window and uses Blizzard’s native interface style, making it feel like another in-game profession rather than a separate addon panel.

Progress tracking

Archivist uses completed quests and quest turn-in events to track permanent book deliveries.

Collecting a book or storing it in your bank does not advance reward progress. Only turning it in counts toward the rewards.

Once a turn-in has been recorded, deleting or collecting another copy of the same book does not change the permanent counter.

Reward progress is tracked separately:

• The first 10 turned-in books unlock the Necklace
• 20 turned-in books in total unlock the Ring
• The first 10 books count toward both rewards

These are the currently confirmed reward thresholds in the Forever beta.

Both reward entries display an alphabetical list of all confirmed book deliveries, including those beyond their required milestones.

Loot and turn-in dates

Archivist records loot and turn-in dates when it witnesses those events.

Recorded dates are displayed using the client’s localized date format. Books collected or turned in before the addon recorded them remain undated; Archivist does not guess historical dates.

Bank tracking

World of Warcraft addons cannot inspect bank contents while the bank is closed.

Open your bank once and Archivist will save a snapshot of the tracked books stored there. Confirmed bank records are preserved across login and /reload.

While the bank is closed, Archivist uses the last confirmed snapshot. If bank contents change and the addon cannot verify those changes, it asks you to reopen the bank and excludes uncertain records from owned-book counts until they can be checked.

Opening Archivist

Archivist can be opened from:

• The Professions window
• The minimap button
• /archivist

The standalone tracker can also be enabled from the addon settings.

Use /archivist settings to open the settings or /archivist help to view the available commands.

Beta notice

World of Warcraft: Forever is still in beta. Blizzard may change book availability, locations, quest IDs, reward requirements or interface behavior at any time.

Archivist will be updated as Blizzard changes the game. Locations that have not yet been confirmed in Forever are explicitly marked inside the addon.
